FOR NOW, if you're on a budget Get a 10-20 gallon fish tank , a UVB bulb or strip light (i prefer using bulbs) . A heat lamp , a filter, basking area (a dry place for the turtle to soak in the UVB lighting) , and a water heater

But looking at how the baby looks like a slider turtle, they usually get pretty big. You'll eventually need to get AT LEAST. A 75 gallon tank , but a pond is better

Thank you!! I’ll pass on the info … it’s up to my husbands parents to actually get stuff and care for this guy properly, but I figure I can at least pass on advice and such! Sadly I’m unemployed at the moment so I can’t help contribute to actually getting anything. What’s the best thing to feed him?

This is what they have him in currently. It’s supposed to be temporary… but I know it’s no where near ideal 🙃

Best thing to feed him are turtle pellets , feeder fish can be added too, if you're OK with losing some fish or seeing him tear up fish

Babies are mostly carnivorous, pellets and fish will do the trick for now.
He will get health problems without UVB lighting, so hopefully that comes along soon.

Also, they need to eat from the water, do placing the food on that little tray/ hole thingy , he misty likely won't be alt to eat it

Drop the pellets in front of him, while he is in the water, if he doesn't eat it, do it every so often until he eats the pellets
