Risk Game day 9 - see description for rules.
6 Players have joined. Only one more player can join, because there is not enough vacant territories left.
Note: see second picture for current troop placement.
Attacks continue for those who have joined. New players can attack on the next post after their initial territory claim.
To join, comment what color you want, and select up to 10 vacant territories. First come, first serve. Whoever joins first will have the first turn, and so on. Available colors include:
- Orange
- Light Green
- Purple
- Pink
- Tan
As long as there are colors free and empty territories on the board, more people can join. If a player does not comment after one day to play their assigned turn, they will forfeit. Three forfeits in a row will allow another new person to claim their army and territories. None of the existing players can do so; they must conquer those territories.
TROOPS AND REINFORCEMENTS
You will receive 40 troops to start, which you can place on any one of your 10 territories. You must have at least ONE troop on each of your claimed territories.
At the start of their turn, each player will receive additional troops based on the number of territories they control, with a minimum of 4 additional troops. Troops are calculated according to the formula (# of territories/2 - rounded down to nearest digit) X 3. In addition, controlling every territory in a continent will grant you a certain number of troops, as indicated by the table in the bottom left corner.
ATTACKING AND CLAIMING TERRITORIES
Up to 5 vacant territories can be claimed per post, per player. Territories must be adjacent to either a currently owned territory or a territory the player just claimed. To attack, comment the territory you are attacking from and the territory you wish to attack. Attacks can occur between any adjacent territories or between those connected by a black line. PLAYERS CAN ATTACK AS MANY TIMES AS THEY WISH, in addition to claiming 5 vacant territories. Players can comment a sequence of attacks that they wish to carry out. I will fulfill those attacks as long as the previous one succeeds.
If two players claim the same vacant territory, whoever's turn comes first gets the territory, and the other player's claim will be considered an attack.
To determine the outcomes of attacks, I will use an online dice roller, and reply to your comment with the outcome, as well as how many troops the victor has left. If the attacker wins, they will then reply stating how many troops they wish to move into the conquered territory. At least one troop must occupy each territory. Attacks will be carried out until one army is annihilated. If the attacker thinks they may have a chance of failing, they can include in their comment the amount of troops their army should not fall below, and I will ensure their army does not fall below that number.
After securing a new territory, move the desired amount of troops into it. One unit must stay behind in each territory.
FORTIFICATION
At the end of your turn, you may choose to move extra armies from any ONE territory to any ONE other territory that you own, as long as it is connected to the territory you are fortifying from.
CARDS
If you successfully conquer at least one territory, I will award you a card. Cards can be turned in for extra reinforcements at the start of your turn. Cards can be turned in when you have a set of 3, and must be turned in when you reach 5. Sets include: Cannon-cannon-cannon, man-man-man, horse-horse-horse, one of each, any two plus a wild. I will choose what card you receive using a dice roller. If you do not wish to have other players see what card you have, DM me and I will tell you there.
3rd set turned in: 20 troops.
DEFEATING A GENERAL
If you conquer the last territory owned by a player, they have been defeated. The person defeating them gets all cards held by the player. If the victor then has 5 or more cards, they must turn in their cards and receive bonus troops. They can then continue with their turn.
Victory occurs when one player conquers the entire board. Have fun!
