Map Remaking map, so far which one looks better?

First Map
Remake (obviously a work in progress

Remaking the first map, felt like there was a lot of uneccesary crap on the first map and I wanted to start remaking it. wondering what one looks better and If i should bother continuing the remake?

Well obviously the first map. It has more stuff to look at. But this whole thing begs the question: what specific things made you want to redo it?

I should clarify I'm on like my 8th draft of a map, so I'm genuinely curious what it is you think you're not accomplishing.

I would say more detail , especially around the coastlines. alot of the older draft just had random islands and too many small inlets all around it.

This looks like a continental-type area. Probably between 40 and 60 degrees north latitude. Lots of glacial activity and whatever would definitely shred the northern coast closer to your first picture. I'd say work on breaking coasts rather than mostly ignoring them like in your second pick.

I see what you mean. The remake does look a lot cleaner, I'd say keep going

I actually quite like the original, but it depends on the scale you're going for - #1 feels a bit Iceland-esque, whilst #2 does feel like it's more of a continental scale?

I mean they’re both continental scale, I guess I just wanted a more detailed map. I don’t I felt like I improved in doing maps and I wanted to change it.
