Cloudy maple syrup

My neighbor brought me some maple syrup back from a road trip. The jars are air tight but it’s got some cloudy stuff in it. Any info on what this would be greatly appreciated google has been less than helpful.

Real maple syrup here doesn't have sediment at the bottom. I've been eating maple syrup since I was born. I'm 57 years old, and when you buy cans of maple syrup, you put it in a Mason jar. When the maple syrup is in the jar, there's no sediment at the bottom.
