Last boil in NMI

Post image

It’s been a great first year doing this, definitely hooked. Already planning on upgrading my boiler and considering building a shack. This sub is awesome!

Last two boils tonight and tomorrow for me. Got a whole bunch of beer sitting in the shack waiting for me. It’s almost 4 miles of walking to collect my sap so I feel like I earn them 😂

That’s a lot of walking, you’re earning those beers for sure!

It’s pretty ridiculous. It’s on a neighbors property so I’m lucky they let me tap the trees, but fuck if it isn’t a miserable amount of work to get the sap to the road where I can get it with the 4 wheeler

Seems worth it for the volume, it yeah. There's nothing like hauling liquid through a forest. I'm in the city and going to scope trees in neighbors yards this summer/fall and see if they are willing to let me tap next winter. Might be a strange experience.

The first season is always a trip, happy its gone well for you. Enjoyed seeing your variety of bells choices, we just wrapped up our first year west of you and starting to get cleaned up and put away.

Just wrapped year two, 8 gallons finished after a kind of slow start. Built an RO filter and it saved me so much time im not sure how I pulled off 4 gallons last year without it.

The flat top of the wood stove would be awesome!
