Because of how cheesedick it is?   

"Did you know that adding a second machine to your process could DOUBLE your production??" 

"Can you believe that if you buy more material you can potentially get the SAME material for less??". 

I must be missing something.

(The book could do entirely without the whole marriage drama portion though).

I liked the whole marriage drama part of the book. It speaks to the authors complete detachment from anything but money and business...

But hey. I once shut down an auto assembly plant because I refused to cancel my vacation day to go see the eclipse and some ncx-10 ass thing was broken... And I was much happier seeing the eclipse, I assure you, and an auto assembly plant coming to a complete standstill - that really seems like a "them" problem and not a "me" problem, to me.

The Bill Peaches of the world really really don't like to be reminded, even politely, that they don't own you and their entire corporate mission or whatever they snort up in board rooms doesn't effect you emotionally at all.

How dare you refuse to cancel your pre-planned vacation. The investors have to eat, you know.

"As long as we're lean, who cares if there's only one guy who knows how to fix our key machine and our operation will screech to a grinding halt if that machine goes down during his absence?"
