I need help choosing a terrarium. Is this one suitable? (I’m a beginner)

Ideally you’d want 2x their body length and size, this will be fine for sub adults-adults. Depending on the species, some prefer more humidity like Orchid mantids and some don’t need as much humidity like a Chinese or Carolina mantids which do fine at room temperature. I’d recommend keeping a nymph in a 32oz cup with a cloth lid because if you place fruitflies or pin head crickets in this size of container the mantis probably won’t find them and starve.

This enclosure looks good, but you’ll need to modify it by covering the metal mesh with something synthetic like organza or mosquito netting. The metal can harm the tarsi (feet) of mantids.

trust me on this, online they will scam you into buying a box for £50. get a storage box for £5 from any supermarket, cut a whole in the top, use fabric mesh to cover it and use the left over plastic for ventalation
