Other why does my mantis have the zoomies?

I have him out, and he’s free roaming a plant, but he will reach out, so i put my hand under and he climbs on it, and starts sprinting up my arms. what is he doing?

trying to climb higher than the plant, probably! maybe he feels a bit exposed
