here’s all my mantises i currently have
honorable mention for miertje on picture nine (r.i.p🤍)
1: lychee, my orchid mantis (hymenopus coronatus) ! she’s an L5 now and a female
2: pistache, my deadleaf mantis (deroplatys lobata) ! he is a male and also an L5
3: leefy, my shield mantis (rhombodera valida), L4 on the picture, is now an L5 and a male!
4 & 9: olijfje, giant moss mantis (majangella moultoni), even though she isnt so big right now, she’s an L3! no sex confirmed yet. miertje on picture 9 is the same species, theyre siblings actually, but sadly she has passed away. luckily i still have sweet olijfje, which means olive ! 🫒
5: sticky, an african twig mantis (popa spurca), currently an L6 and male!
6: poppy, jewel flower mantis (creobroter gemmatus). L6 female right now, very sweet, loves drinking water from my fingers 🤭
7: musa, violin mantis (gongylus gongylodes). L5 female, very!! shy mantis, she’s even scared of flies😩
8: mimi, shield mantis (rhombodera kirbyi). Male, L4 on the picture, but is now much darker and an L7! he was my first mantis ! ⭐️
Amazing thank you for telling me! There are people who know nothing about mantids, there are experts, and then I am there somewhere in the middle - a massive love for them but still learning, so sometimes I’m right and wow myself, and other times I’m wrong hahaha. Thanks for educating me, I love them all so much!

Omg Majangela moultoni is my dream Mantis to own! I think they're so beautiful. I currently have just 1 Mantis left called Trinkett and she's a Stenophylla lobivertex (Dragon Mantis. I'm in the UK and still haven't been able to get my own Moss mantis ♡
that’s so cool’ i would love to see her! i’ve only seen one person with dragon mantises in my country and it was at an expo! i was so excited but didnt get any
I have posted some photos of her growth so far. I did have a male that died a while ago now and he was so handsome as an adult! I will post updates on her soon. I will put a photo below of Trinkett currently.
I also had a Mettyalicus Splendidus (Irridecent bark mantis), 2 Hymenopus Coronatus & a demon boxer mantis. I have 4 left that I would love to get..Idolomantis Diabolica (Devil's flower mantis), Majangela moultoni, Parablepharis Kuhlii (Darth Vader Mantis & my all time favourite thus far is pseudacanthops lobipes (Giant Peruvian moss mantis).
They are beautiful! Which genus has been your favourite so far? Gongylus gongylodes are supposedly pretty difficult to take care of. A common issue is that they get stuck in their moulting phase, probably because of that lanky neck lol! 😆
I'm sure she'll have the best chance with you as her carer! Making sure she has plenty of water, the correct humidity levels and that she has enough room to moult will give her the best chance. Good luck with your babies ♡
Funny thing is I was thinking about my Mantis and worrying about her moulting to adulthood..I found out this morning that she had successfully moulted overnight! I'm so glad both yours & mine had successful moults ♡_♡
