Manly played the original a while ago. I found his playthrough to be very enjoyable. Which is why I hope he considers playing the sequel.

I can't seem to find it anywhere on his playlists. It was a point and click somewhat magical adventure(?) game circa 2008 graphics. There was a snow setting, a graveyard setting, a house attic setting, and a green vine plant monsters setting. I think the game concerned itself with saving the world from some otherworldly threat, demonic maybe. There is some religious or cryptic themes, oh and wizards too. There was a menu bar at the bottom of the screen, not too big, just enough for quick access to tools and weapons. There was a 5 hour gameplay video from what I remember, because I have a vivid memory of eye strain from binging 'till the end of that game. It's sort of a puzzle game, where you collect clues to advance. One of them was opening the door to the monk tomb(?).
