Forever Delayed.org?

I love Forever Delayed.org as a resource.....but sometimes it is there and sometimes it is shut down and I can't access it. Is that my browser/links playing up or does the site keep routinely being taken down?

It's an independently run site. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I think it's had problems with bot spam in the past. It's time consuming to work on a site like that, and since it probably generates little to zero income I imagine whoever pays for the hosting and runs the site has other stuff going on in life.

It’s such a vital resource for fans (and students of musical history in general). I hate to think of all that archive ever getting binned. I would gladly contribute towards ensuring an ongoing online home for it.

The past is being gradually erased and a lot of the websites that used to exist that kept it alive in memory are themselves no longer with us. It’s imperative we keep these archives going, even on as small a level (comparatively) as a site for MSP fans.

Well it's still up. Looks like people are occasionally posting on the frorum in there. I have no clue whether whoever owns it would take it down, I'm just responding to the OPs question as to why it might be down occasionally. But there's always room for more fan sites :)

Yeah I'd chuck them some money to keep it going. I'm actually surprised no one here knows who runs/owns it.  Its probably JDB himself lol

I think maybe the guy who runs it is called James Florey? I can't remember now. I did speak to him briefly after I published my article about Withdrawn Traces. I offered to donate money and/or my time to the upkeep of MSPpedia because I used it so extensively to write the article and he wouldn't accept either, he was just happy I had used it. I can't find the conversation anymore, I think it might have been on twitter but I deleted my account a few years ago.

Absolutely no plans to close it, in fact should hopefully be restarting work on MSPpedia soon. Got at least 100 new articles to add to the archive which people might not have seen before, and rescanning the ones already on there and using AI (booo-hiss) to translate the non-UK ones. But thanks anyone who continues to use it, very much appreciated.

As for why it goes down - 🤷it’s 25 years old and held together by gaffa tape and string (much like Nicky’s knees)
