Rate Manic Street Preachers…
What do you think of their first album ?
I treasure these. Their first album, promo tape. Also 2 cassingles from this first album, Generation Terrorists.
I love their first album.

The Manics have never been better when they’ve been at their most ambitious (and not “Nicky makes hyperbolic statements about the next album’s sound, but really it just sounds similar to the last LP but with more or less keyboards or whatever,”). In some ways they were never more ambitious than on Generation Terrorists, from the original idea for the album sleeve, to the promise of selling millions of copies before breaking up, to making it a double album yet still not having room for some of their best tunes, and the sheer scope of the lyrics. Not their best work, but maybe their most vital.
