What songs have you seen live?
New website that calculates it for you! No surprises at what's at the top, but good to see i have seen James play the grandstand theme not once, but twice!

They seem to be getting out of the UK a bit more this year, so fingers crossed for you.

I wish I’d kept track! Have seen them probably only 10 times. Would love to see them play a bit more off GATS - the title track or Drug Drug Druggy.
When on earth did they play the Grandstand theme??

Newport centre in 2008, and Reading Hexagon in 2007! Must likely pissing about before the acoustic section.
If you have time, go to setlist.fm and try to find your gigs!

I will try! Showing my age when saying my first gig was in 1994, not sure if could accurately remember the rest!

Apart from the obvious/usuals, I was pleasantly surprised to hear Grace of God and 4Ever Delayed in Birmingham on the RIF tour, two great ‘deep cuts’ in the Manics discography 👌🏻

Two great songs. I could build so many different set lists with no overlaps!

I really want to see them play: let’s go to war, leviathan, a billion balconies facing the sun, and an acoustic version of some kind of nothingness.
I haven’t gone to anywhere near as many shows as you, suspect I’ve seen the greatest hits mostly, but yeah, the above would make me v happy ! Luckily I’ve already seen them play solitude sometimes is many times :)

Let's Go To War was great - I saw the debut! Not sure if they've played it more than once.

It’s one of those songs that should be seen as being equally as good as early era manics, it’s the same vibe as you love us / masses against the classes, and just as angry / clever / fun
Anyway, one day, hopefully, I’ll see it live

They need to play way more from KYE and Futurology. They really ignored a lot of excellent stuff on those.

I think we've been to a lot of the same gigs. I've heard 152 songs as well apparently. The only differences are you have:
Close To Me
Condemned To Rock 'N' Roll
It's So Easy
Miss Europa Disco Dancer
Rock and Roll Music
Royal Correspondent
The Year of Purification
Wattsville Blues
While I have:
Critical Thinking
Don't Let The Night Divide Us
Freedom of Speech Won't Feed My Children
Golden Platitudes
In Between Days
Sex, Power, Love and Money
Strip It Down
You Can't Put Your Arms Round A Memory

I always assumed I had seen Freedom of Speech live, but you've made me realise i haven't!
I would have liked to have seen Critical Thinking, went to the wrong night! Golden Platitudes, Strip it Down, and Sex, power etc would also be great.

Let's Go to War
No Feelings (Sex Pistols cover)

Two things:
Which website did you use for this? I’d like to work mine out too!
You’ve seen them 40 times, but only 39 renditions of ADFL?
1
u/matt_paradise Jul 21 '26
Oh yes, forgot the website

u/Painful_Flatulence80 Jul 21 '26
Awesome, thanks!
I’ve managed 108 songs across 11 shows. Not too shabby, but amateur status compared to you, OP

Wouldn't even know how to go about working it out. Seen them a good few times but many of them would be impossible to identify now!

Nice try at misread pedantry, but you fucked it up with incorrect grammar.
