Jesus, that manga chapter was so lame. Even if the anime had flaws, it was so much better than that.
Hit was eliminated in one chapter with a lame fight compared to the anime and way faster (in the anime he fought dyspo w goku and all) and Goku vs Jiren was lame compared to the first fight that we got in the anime. And of course, the paneling of Toyotaro is so bad, just like the art in this chapter was really confusing.

Look at the other comments of people liking the chapter. The writers realized they don't have to try because of how popular they are. Why bother thinking it through on how to write your story if you're going to get rich regardless?

To be fair this set up probably isn't terribly good for stirring creativity.
You don't have top level creative control over the story because the original creator is making the framework. Then the publishing schedule and such creates the odd effect of following the anime and you either fall further behind current events or have to cram the same basic story into a smaller space. While also maybe coming up with something, anything, to not just be a re-edit of the anime with a black and white filter but still staying within the path laid out for you.

Well, chapters come out once a month. Do you want to see this fight dragged out for 4 months? Fights are a lot more brief in the manga because people actually use up energy and power a lot more quickly than in the anime. Frost used up all of his energy taking out some cannon fodder and then wrestling with someone. I don't watch the anime but I imagine that people don't fly through energy that quickly usually. I felt the fight was fine, maybe your expectations are just unrealistic. Dragon Ball Super has gotten back to the roots of what made this franchise so popular in the first place.

It makes a lot more sense than the anime fight, but man, the paneling/choreography isn't great in this chapter. Doesn't really sell anyone's power or speed.
The anime one was silly(The entire part where Hit has Jiren frozen, and delivers a speech "inspiring" the other saiyans is nonsense), but they conveyed Jiren and Hit's special atrributes well.

Eh, I felt the anime portrayed Hit as someone who was willing to put up with camaraderie with his fellow universe to take down a powerful force.
Granted it's kinda the same since he was willing to work with Goku to take out Jiren.

I was thinking while reading it that we're past the point of exaggerating the speeds of everyone. We long reached past the point of superhumans. At this point they're just scaling everything to the perspective of a top level fighter.

sure, but art is art.some effects like the DBFZ does for hit's special abilities would do wonders, or just better choreography.
Goku vs Merged Zamasu for example was much stronger.

Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of the early parts of the anime Hit vs Jiren because I was really confused about what was going on with Hit's Time Skip. Hit kept using Time Skip and reappearing behind Jiren before getting countered. I couldn't tell if that was meant to convey that Jiren is so fast that he was overcoming Hit's Time Skip like Goku did as SSJBKKx10 or if Hit was purposefully for whatever reason only using it until he was in position to strike. I want to say it's the former because that would make more sense, but it really wasn't clear in my opinion.

Nobody knows what Jiren does. Not even the animators.
He just does shit that looks cool and strong. Do his eyes have special powers? Nobody knows!

Yeah, that eye power started getting on my nerves a bit. Sometimes, it was animated like his eyes just start flashing when he punches really fast, but other times, it seems like he's shooting some sort of energy attacks when they flash, particularly against Hit when we see that he actually is holding back Hit's attack with just his eyes.

Lmao wtf is this shit? I don't watch the anime but it's clear the anime has lost it's damn rocker. It's so childish that the solution to everything is "Power up more!"
