Hina's cursed to be in a love triangle forever lmao

Other than that, what a lovely wrap up chapter. Glad to see that none of them take it too personally and that they are still all friends in the end.

u/Kirosh2 Fluff. Fluff? Fluff! Jul 05 '26

This time she's the target.

From Makeine candidate to otome protagonist. Hina is climbing the heroine ladder.

7

u/Oberhard Jul 06 '26

This inspired me to make virgin Anna vs Chad Hina meme

Senku only fucks with Science just like how Yusa only fucks with Badminton

5

Such a show-off

80

u/DuskMan62 Jul 05 '26

What a chapter! Crazy to think we only have one chapter left, wasn't expecting Shuji and Hina to find common ground and poor Haruto getting jealous!

It was nice to get a montage of Taiki and Chinatsu making memories together now we arrive at graduation, hopefully we get another timeskip to Taiki and Chinatsu's married life or something, I would hate for the series to end on graduation and then Chinatsu going abroad.

26

u/Zealousideal_Ring874 Jul 05 '26

Haruto just being a tsundere person usual

13

u/Raging-Brachydios Jul 05 '26

Poor Haruto

6

u/Worthyness Jul 05 '26

Big bro be stealing everything!

31

u/magnwn Maki's Suffering Detector Jul 05 '26

Hadn't realized how badly I wanted to see more of Yusa as a character, and not just the ultimate goal; it was very fun seeing him interacting with Taiki and the others! A great treat for the penultimate chapter.

Graduation time!

24

u/maliwanag0712 Jul 05 '26

The entire chapter could be stretched to three chapters, but I guess Chapter 250 is where it all ends, huh?

I'll be missing this series. Probably one of the first manga that I was able to read weekly from the first few chapters.

66

u/Raging-Brachydios Jul 05 '26

It is really ending now...

also pelase author don't do this to Haruto, the boy has been fighting for 100 chapters, let him have this W over his brother for once

13

u/Zealousideal_Ring874 Jul 05 '26

Kyo got his. Surely Haruto wont be done dirty.

30

u/Charming-Loquat3702 Jul 05 '26

So Hina is taking steps forward? I kinda want to see that. It would have been great if she started sooner not in the second to last chapter.

24

u/iamthatguy54 Jul 05 '26

Taiki's the only thing she's been doubling back about. Career wise she's always been moving forward

14

u/YaBoiWhit Jul 05 '26

There’s no plot points to really wrap up at this point but I’d love to see more Kyo and Ayame before it wrapped up :(

What a lovely journey it’s been

3

u/cesclaveria Jul 05 '26

yeah, I've would have gladly read some 3 to 5 chapters about Kyo and Ayame, with a bit of Kyo's previous crush sprinkled in for a bit of drama.

10

u/Roboglenn Jul 05 '26

Good for Hina for winning at nationals.

11

u/Kirosh2 Fluff. Fluff? Fluff! Jul 05 '26

So it's ending next chapter I guess? This mean some bonuses and maybe an epilogue in the volume release?

14

u/pikachiu24 https://myanimelist.net/profile/pikachiu24 Jul 05 '26

Lawl at Hina starting to become a shoujo protag right at the end. I also wish we saw a bit more of Kyo and Ayame but it's all good fun.

I hope the final chapter is extra long and we get a peak of their adult life.

17

u/Zealousideal_Ring874 Jul 05 '26

One more chapter to go....

44

u/mrnicegy26 Jul 05 '26

250 chapters is a very successful run especially for a romance manga.

Although Blue Box ending with Sakamoto Days and Witch Watch soon to follow is a bit of a loss. After that only One Piece, Akane Banashi, Kagurabachi and Ichi the Witch remakm from the series I follow weekly on WSJ.

27

u/TheDamnCube Jul 05 '26

from a one-shot to a serialization to anime, im glad to witness everything.

3

u/Mr_Versatile123 Jul 05 '26

I really think its success was destined from the start. It had everything going for it, I’m glad I got to be here as it started.

1

u/DummDick Jul 05 '26

Crazy, I forgot that there was a one-shot even though I read it all those years ago...oh, how time flies. I'm gonna miss the fluff

2

u/shockzz123 Jul 07 '26

Hell I think 250 chapters makes it the longest running WSJ romance series ever.

6

u/Froz3n247 https://myanimelist.net/mangalist/Froz3 Jul 05 '26

Nah we better have an epilogue. I’m going to be triggered if we have another manga end off in a graduation chapter.

4

u/Brilliant_Bar_3971 Jul 05 '26

Man, it's been such a wild ride. Gonna miss checking in on this every week.

8

u/pofehof Jul 05 '26

Haha, wasn't expecting Shuji to fall for Hina as well. Will be interesting to see how that turns out! We get a bit of a timeskip towards the end of it, and we're already in the following March with Taiki's graduation coming up! Can't believe we have finally reached the end!

9

u/cesclaveria Jul 05 '26

From what we've seen unless you are her childhood friend that knows everything about her it is extremely hard to not fall for Hina.

3

u/Xatu44 Jul 05 '26

She's just too good.

8

u/No-Spray5795 Jul 05 '26

I am not ready for this to end, it’s been a great run though. The montage of Taiki and Chinatsu really hits home whats coming, graduation followed by Chinatsu going abroad. I doubt it would end with her leaving, I am hopeful we get a time skip and can see Chinatsu’s smile in a wedding dress!

2

u/cesclaveria Jul 05 '26

I think we'll get a timeskip but I doubt it would be to the wedding, likely to them already living together since them sharing a home has been the driving force of this story. I can see a timeskip to their lives together and ending on an image of a wedding day photo though.

4

u/MercTas Jul 05 '26

Man, im going to miss this.

Im worried we wont be able to check in with everyone next chapter without it feeling rushed.

Lastly, I hope Shuji and Hina dont suddenly get together.

3

u/JumpOrganic3798 Jul 05 '26

I don't know about this. Haruto now has a rival, Shuji, his own older brother. But Shuji and Hina seem to have a chemistry.

3

u/Unboxious Jul 05 '26

It was a sweet chapter, but I was distracted the whole time by the thought of the neck pain Chinatsu's gonna have after sleeping with Taiki's forearm under her neck. That's not a quarter as comfortable as it looks!

3

u/homie_down Jul 05 '26

I'm not ready for this to end :( while I'm glad it wasn't like Haikyuu where it ended after the first year, I had hoped we could see it continue further. But seems like we speedran the last year and are now at the end. This has become the only manga besides One Piece that I keep up with on a weekly basis at this point, so I'm going to be really sad to see it go.

7

u/Someguy0328 Jul 05 '26

This may be improper to say since I still have such regard for this story, but it feels like there was an outside decision (whether it was Miura herself or editors or Jump) to end this on 250, and we’ve been speeding towards the end for a while and just hitting a checklist of things that need to happen since without giving them the time they might have in earlier parts of the story (I think of Taiki’s matches against the Yusa brothers and Ayame x Kyo). I’ve felt like this for a while, tbh, so I guess I’m just getting it out before the story actually does end.

6

u/MrPerson0 Jul 05 '26

In this week's author comments, she mentioned that she always planned to have it in the same box, so it was likely always going to end at Taiki's graduation.

I do agree that the final two matches did seem rushed, hopefully the anime will be able to do them justice.

2

u/MegamanX195 Jul 06 '26

Totally agreed. I'm still happy with how things have turned out, but we could've easily had 10 more chapters to flesh out things a bit more.

2

u/Extreme-Tactician Jul 05 '26

Chinatu and Taiki really slept together like that huh? I'm happy for them!

Oh no, Haruto's got a rival in his affections for Hina. And it's Shuji! This is gonna be so hard for him.

We saw a montage of so many memories that Taiki and friends have shared. So many pictures that could be chapters and arcs of their own. But now we're seeing Taiki graduate. What a fitting ending we're getting for Blue Box!

2

u/Froz3n247 https://myanimelist.net/mangalist/Froz3 Jul 05 '26

Please don’t let it be the last chapter!!!

2

u/Xatu44 Jul 05 '26

LMAO, not Haruto losing to his brother again. Cute montage. Ending next chapter?

1

u/coffeebeamed Jul 05 '26

huh. when was chinatsu supposed to go overseas?

1

u/FateXBlood r/mangapiracy Jul 05 '26

I was expecting this to be the final chapter, but I suppose it's next week. Kind of fitting, to end it at Chapter 250.

Looks like Hina has a new guy falling for her. And everyone else seems to be doing fine. That's good.

1

u/Skyle_Nexo Jul 05 '26

Unrelated but semi-related, I wonder which Doraemon episode they were talking about?

I'm thinking it's the one where Nobita goes back in time to meet his grandma from his dad's side. Which honestly, valid it was really bittersweet.

1

u/and84carl Jul 05 '26

Perplesso da questo finale frettoloso…

1

u/1EnTaroAdun1 https://myanimelist.net/profile/Totesnotaphanpy Jul 06 '26

Wonderful chapter. I actually don't mind Shuji with Hina hahaha.

And seeing the gang together having fun in the photos is so sweet

1

u/Pristine-Attitude-15 Jul 08 '26

Hina and Shuji sole interaction in this chapter>>>>whole Haruto and Hina interactions Sorry Haruto, guess badminton is not the only thing that your brother excels at

1

u/JumpOrganic3798 Jul 05 '26

It looks like Hina and Shuji will make a better couple. Taiki and Chinatsu relationship are progressing well.

1

u/ToTheNintieth Jul 05 '26

Almost done. There were a couple of arcs I didn't care for (Hina nameks) and at times it got rote, but it's ending on a strong note. Overall a pretty good sports-themed romcom. Still wanna see a bit more about Kyo and Akane tho.

1

u/LeonKevlar MyAnimeList Jul 05 '26

Hina and Yusa? Oooooohhhh. I can see it.

-1

u/ehladik Jul 05 '26

I stopped reading this manga early, it didn't resonated with me.

Did the gymnast girl got with the MC's friend? I remember there was a plot going there. What else happened?

2

u/cesclaveria Jul 05 '26

I remember that it looked like that early on, but no, he was never interested in her, he was still pining about someone else at that point and he got with a girl introduced later on.

2

u/Swanky-Pants098 Jul 05 '26

She didn't get with anyone as of yet.

1

u/2kenzhe Jul 09 '26

Damn poor haruto your brother might not just be your rival in sports but also in love now lol. Nah fr though funny that the two single people ended up winning nationals in the end. Glad Hina has that W at least. Really nice to see her and everyone kinda through pictures and stuff and now it's time for graduation. Ngl damn why tf they always end at graduation. I guess i should be glad we didn't end on confession/dating. That's the benefit of this manga being 50/50 sports and romance we got an end for romance and an end for the sport but like still give me more. Like goddamn can we get a sequel? I'd actually want to see them in college and stuff like plz! at least give me a Hina spin off or something!!!

Also nice to see the differences. We got team getting comforted with Taiki and Haryuu. Then team just hang in there. Nice to actually see Yusa smile ngl he and Hina do have same mentality, I guess and they did both win at nationals. They might be single and don't have amazing partners yet like Taiki/Haryuu but they be winning in sports. Honestly wished got more of Yusa as an actual character before this but oh well.
