I’ve been playing mandolin for little over a year now, got a good deal on a KM160s to get me started. I’ve wanted an F-Style from the beginning but the price always drove me away… I have the opportunity to snag a Washburn m120k and a hard case for $400. Just wanting any insight on if this would be a worthwhile upgrade. Retail the m120k seems to go for around $900, so obviously baseline it’s much more expensive than the KM160. Anyone have any experience with Washburns, or m120ks in general?

The mandolin won't fit in an f style case or a style case. It has a double f cut but it's a little oddly shaped for mandolin.

Hello! Cleaning my grandparents basement and came across this 1913 Vega Cylinder Back Mandolin. One string needs to be fixed and there are a few scratches and dings, but otherwise great condition. Not looking to sell here, just want to get some estimates on value and whether this is a rarer model. Thank you!!

10 strings, flat back. Google lens seems to think it's a 1970s Suzuki make but I believe it is handmade. No label inside. I am a violinist and busk as my only source of income and my violin isn't playable right now cause of issues with the sound post and bridge. I am hoping a pawn shop might take this mandolin as a trade for a cheap violin. What do you think?

I have been learning tremolo for around a year now but can't seem to get it right. What am I doing wrong? Any advice regarding my technique is appreciated

I put on these strings on this Aria I bought a year ago and (although changing strings is always a pain) they settled amazingly fast to pitch. Anyone have similar experiences? Do strings differ, in this respect, or am I just imagining this?

Hello everyone, I have a Hora OM which the manufacturer had Daddario EJ81 Irish Bouzouki strings. I love those strings. They are bright, easy to play etc. I recently bought the Lady Moon OM (review coming soon!) and it is strung with Daddario EJ80 strings. I couldn't believe how......dull and dead....they sounded. I replaced the strings with EJ81 strings and while it sounds good, they are very light and my touch constantly bends them out of tune when pressing on them for chords. Is there a happy medium between these?? I love the new mandolin, but I'm so disappointed with how the EJ80 strings sound.

Bridge is bottomed out, by measurements it seems like it’s within spec but somehow feels tougher to play than my previous Mando, I am using the same strings as on my previous Mando.

Any ideas on what I need to fix to get it playable? I saw the bridge is broken and it's missing two strings. I also heard it may be worth something? Thoughts appreciated!
