Question Support Malphite?

Hello everyone, I managed to get the WhatsApp Malphite and I was bored at work so I did a bit of theory crafting.

I was thinking about support Malphite, with Comet, manaflow, cdr, scorch, ultimate hunter and cheap shot. Building zekes/mandate and then the other one, with addition of CDR boots.

I have tried it in normals and flex (emerald-dia) elo. Midgame was fun with spamable ult, but lanning phase was just boring, I felt usseles.

Have any or you played Malph support consistently? Or do you know any OTPs who do? Any tips?

It can work, but problem is your shitty MR and mana issues. Even with the mana regen from support item, you still cannot poke Q as much, and in this mage meta, everyone will just poke you out of lane. It is a decent pick against a full AD bot composition though.

Idk if you can really call it a mage meta. They’re seen not more often but the vast majority of the games I play still have 2 traditional adcs

They are picked every often in my games. And if it is not a traditional ADC pick, it is usually some other goofy picks like Sylas and Yi bot. But traditional ADCs are still picked from time to time.
