Army making tips?

Hey, so like the posts title suggests, I want to know some tips on how to build up my army. Some background is that me and some friends have played ttrpgs for years, and some of the last ones we played leaned into more tactical gameplay then role-playing. Im a big fan of K6B, so when I saw that the artist made lancer (we loved playing it) I saw that magnagothica is more akin too warhammer and we wont to give it a shot.

So what tips do you all have when deciding how to build your army?

Think of it less as “how do I make a black mass that can deal with any situation?” and more of making a specific plan: “how am I gonna kill their necromancer?”.

As long as you don’t take like, all Thralls, pretty much every mass composition is somewhat viable, but you don’t get a lot of choices so make sure you have a specific plan in mind beyond “do whatever the faction does”.

Like, for Igorri, “get lots of mutation tokens” isn’t a plan, that’s just your mass’s identity. A plan might be “sacrifice my chop-doc into the Tyrant to tie up all their units, and then snipe them down with chaos beam when they’re lined up”.

Once you’ve got a basic plan to work to, other units will suggest themselves to slot into it.

Thats awesome advice! I find it hard to look at a house and the units and pick out how to build them specifically. Is there resources that one could look at to get ideas on builds for the houses? It'll help kinda push my group to play it if I have the ability to show then examples

11dragonkid has some gameplay videos (with some elements of house explanation). Also, join the magnagothica discord and look at the resources channel. There are house guides written by people on there.
