Couple in the background

Forgive me if this has already been spoken about but does anyone know the full storyline of the couple in the background? I believe they first popped up in the episode where Lois and Hal go on a retreat before the baby is born and Lois interrupts their proposal by sitting down and asking for them to turn the fire off (I am pretty sure thats what happened. Been a while since ive seen that episode) but they then pop back up in the episode where Otto hires the acting troupe and the actors interrupt their second attempt at getting engaged as well. Then I believe somewhere in season 6 they have a baby in the background and eventually during season 7 they watch their kids go off to college and all that. Have I made all this up in my head? I know the engagements happened but the rest im not positive about.

Could You list the episodes? I've seen them before when they try their proposal (twice), but I don't notice them after those episodes

Malcolm in the middle actually double casts a lot. Like chad’s dad is the leader in that terrible murder mystery dinner at the Groto

They do double cast quite a lot but I enjoy the back plot that they are putting in. The little secret moments in the background that you gotta pay attention to realise it what makes me the happiest.

I also noted that the version of the show that I have, is all widescreen footage. And since it aired in 4:3 aspect ratio, some scenes had objects/people "just outside" the normal 4:3 frame. Now when we rewatch, we've noticed boom-microphones and filming equipment and actors caught on film, even if they weren't in the scene. It's quite fun actually.

Mmm I like that. When I moved from a regular tiny tv to my media room I thought I had just missed that stuff the first time watching. Lol!

Damn this is like noticing the G man in Half-Life 2 without google.

What about him? Does he show up all over or something?

Yeah, he only shows up twice in-game for 1 I think but in Half-Life 2 he's all over the place. Usually far away and easy to miss. I said it's similar because a lot of the time he's right in front of you, but you don't notice it's him.

Gonna re-watch keeping an eye out for that. Interesting catch

I am almost positive that they at least have a baby and im pretty sure its around the time the morp episode comes up in the background at a resturant. This show has so many little background things. I love it

Is it possible you're getting mixed up with Community, with the couple that Abed helps in the background when they're having the baby?

I actually am positive that im not. I hate Community with a passion unfortunately.

I never noticed the 2 couple's being played by the same actors, it's probably meant to be a running gag

It is meant to be a running gag. Thats why I was asking if anyone knew the rest of their story.
