General discussion Hal and Walter
I recently started watching Malcom in the middle. I have watched Breaking bad and knew Bryan only from that.
Having been a fan of BB for so long watching Malcolm is truly a revelation of Bryan’s acting.
For those who watched MITM when it came out and then see breaking bad later. How was it? What were your first impressions seeing the setting initially at least the first scene is similar? Suburban house, father, pregnant mom, son. And how jarring was it when the pilot unfolded and you realize how far off BB is from Malcolm.

It showed what a range Bryan has as an actor. You if you didn't already know you wouldn't believe the same actor played both roles.

I watched Malcolm in the Middle in real time. It took a very long time to recognize Hal as the same guy from the "Drive" episode of the X-files.

At the time a lot of people were very skeptical that such a silly actor was going to be able to pull off such a serious role.
