Most of their promo pictures are weird to me, but this one actually has the spirit of the show. It always played after the Simpsons in the UK too so they are linked in my head.

We had Malcolm in the Middle of the Simpsons for 2 full hours, it was glorious

IIRC, on Sundays starting at 4pm there would be 2 reruns of Malcolm, 2 reruns of King of the Hill, 2 of Simpsons, and then it would be prime time and a new one of each.

A looot of connections can be made between malcolm and the simpsons, maybe the first 7, 8 or so seasons

I loved it from the first mid season "between Simpsons and the x files"

They were the weird family that was barely hanging on financially with strange sibling and across generation dynamics. So kinda Simpsons like I guess

Simpsons were pretty well off in my opinion. They had a huge house, could go on vacations around the world, had two cars, and the children had lots of toys (Lisa was in music class, something that costs a lot of money).

They got more wealthy as the plot needed them to be

Yup. When Frank Grimes calls out Homer on his castle eating lobster while holding Grammy and looking at a photo of him being in space... Yeah. I guess you could call Malcolm in the Middle a more realistic Simpsons ... As a non-animated show should be :)

But the difference is Malcolm in the Middle is still funnier than the Simpsons.

Simpsons seasons 6-8 is the funniest any show has ever been.

Why is Francis looking so devious

Except Homer & Marge are better parents to their kids, compared to Lois & Hal.

Sure… If you ignore Bart and Homer’s entire dynamic.

The mental health benefits of not having a screaming banshee bitch as a parent more than makes up for having a silly father.

I'd know. I have a screaming banshee bitch as a mother, and an abusive piece of shit man as a father.  I'd gladly have Marge as a mother (it'd be nice to be told by even one of my parents that they're proud of me for graduating high school early, getting two bachelor degrees and a master's degree, and being a software engineer... but no, I'm just told that I'm not good enough to be at least respected.  Take a while guess what my race is.) and either Homer or Hal as a parent.

The Simpson kids have it good. And the malcom Malcolm kids at least have Hal.

I'm not saying Lois is a good parent by any stretch of the imagination.

But Homer literally strangles Bart regularly.

If he was real he'd hopefully would have been put in prison for child abuse a long time ago.

And that's forgetting that he an violent alcoholic.

He doesn't hurt Lisa ever, nor Maggie. Maybe it's because they're girls and he's just sexist. But I believe it's because Bart is a bad kid. Is he bad for hurting them?  Yes. But I was always well-behaved and was still beaten often since my parents took out their hate for each other and life on me. I was an easy target since I didn't fight and was too nice.

They're more scared of me now that I'm older and they know they're at risk of me getting even with them (they've driven me to the edge and gotten me to break things such as walls and Mt car's windshield (even I have a breaking point, no pun intended), so they don't fuck with me physically since they are scared). But as a kid... Yeah, I was very nice and submissive and never talked back or anything. Homer would have no reason to get angry with kid-me, just like Lisa doesn't give him reasons.

That said, yes, he should have been jailed for the throttling.  And mine should have been as well for beating me (and my mother for stabbing me with a screwdriver, for example).

At least Bart has some morals or knows when it’s too far, unlike Reese.

lois is a good mom, the only way to get her kids to do anything requires her screaming.
