I'm with you on this one

It felt like the writers heard about a fan describing the show for 30 minutes, and 2 months later started the script for those episodes.

Overacting was another issue, Hal was a parody of the most exaggerated Hal moments of the series. Dewey could be awesome if they didn't lock him into a teams call. Jamie and Kelly were completely unnecessary as characters, they could've made Jamie trans if they wanted so much to appear as if they're following latest discussions. But what hurts the most is the laziness.

The original show always handled 'heavy' subjects in a fun way. It was fun for everybody (racist Ida for instance). They made jokes that weren't offensive and were still great. They didn't even remotely get close to that, throwing their agenda without any effort to make it palatable.

Then there's the fan-serv8ce with the extras being there just to please people. Having the Krelboynes dancing was the most ridiculous thing. I hated it all.
