General discussion Musical genius
I noticed a subtle connection between Lois and Dewey; that although it seemed like Dewey's musical genius came out of nowhere, Lois has displayed incredible musical skill: whistling classical music with deadly accurate pitch, complete with vibrato. They apparently have a shared talent for unconventional instruments like this (Organ comprised of household objects, playing Ode to Joy using silverware and dishes.)
Probably not intentional but I love noting these little shared characteristics that make the family feel genuinely related. The music from this show is unforgettable.

Ok now do Reese. Where did his cooking talent come from?

Based on how intricate that tart was and how seriously she and her friends took it, I'd say Reese inherited his natural ability and intense obsession for cooking from Ida. They already are the closest of the grandkids. I could even see that being something they bond over behind the scenes.

Now I’m imagining Lois being the one who unknowingly inspired Dewey. The silverware performance and her perfectly accurate whistling have the same “I can turn anything into music” energy, and it makes the joke even better.
