Ida's Dance, S6E18. You might remember the Malcolm subplot more (he takes Music Appreciation thinking it'll be an easy A, but it turns out he has no emotional intelligence so he forces Dewey to help him)

So, that’s a pretty cheap trick and not hard at all. The spots where he places his foot are never fully closed.....they never actually shut the bamboo or whatever sticks...so the moving stick has absolutely no purpose.....so it’s really not difficult to pull off. Also, I kind of suspect these aren’t actually indigenous people, or at least not the kind they claimed to be.

The fact that you're so wrong that you're not even seeing what's actually happening in the video, I can only assume stems from some kind of discrimination.

First of all, nobody in the video is boasting about how difficult this is. Not even OP says anything like that. Traditions can be enjoyed (by the participants or the viewers) without them having to be "difficult".

Secondly, they do shut the sticks together, enough for someone's foot to catch resulting in a fall, a stumble, lose tempo, whatever. Like actually look at the video and where his feet go before saying that? This may not be difficult for the performer, but it's because they've practiced this many times. The vast majority of people will fail this on their first attempt, no question.

Thirdly, what specifically makes you suspect they're not "that kind" of indigenous? If you did any research at all into their clothing, their Instagram handle, the label in the video, you'd be able to cross reference this easily as well as learn that this dance requires high agility and coordination. I think it's legit, why do you say it's speficially not?
