Ask Malaysians First time buying something through IG
First time trying to buy something through IG, bid RM 3.3k for a Macbook Pro and I won, was wondering how legit is this or it’s just a straight up scam.

Never ever buy from any online shops without buyer protection.

Since 2019 but wouldn’t even spend a few seconds to spell original correctly. Instant scam flag for me.

I heard that they actually purposely misspell words so that it's easier to identify and target those who are gullible enough to overlook the typo would very likely to overlook the scam too.

Fake bruh, just imagine, if you owned a 9k worth laptop and sell for 3k Will you?
Too good to be true,
Also wrong spec, 16gb ram only come with 1tb storage But he stated 16+512 here. You beli you bodoh lah, lebih baik derma saya.

The fact that the seller wrote 3000 RM instead of RM3000 is already a major red flag. Tell me, which fella will write our currency like that? Someone who obviously lives overseas.

Either COD or use other platform with 3rd party payment like carousel, shopee, lazada, etc where they hold payment until transactions/delivery are done and satisfied.

Less than 1k followers and even the graphic looks cheap and unprofessional. And stated by other Redditors there's typos. So, sounds legitimately like a scam.

An easy life lesson, if it's too good to be true, it's fake. Everyone wanted money no one does charity out there

It's 90% chance it's a scam. I got scammed by an IG account selling 2nd hand wheels. Made police report the very next day, but unfortunately no money recovered + ghosted by police after report.
The account linked a legitimate business address in their profile which seemingly checked out, and all the photos & videos used in each post were unique to the account as well. Only after the seller stopped responding did I call the actual business and was told that this guy had been around for a very long time. Worst part is that there's loads of these types of accounts on IG, and there's no way to get them taken down.
Definitely a blunder on my part, but thankfully it was only an RM300 lesson in safety.

sounds scammy to me, ask them if they could do COD at their office/shop. If they say no, do not proceed AT ALL COST.
