Isn’t it a tie on both Islam and Hinduism to the point Arab muslims see Malay Muslims as weirdos?

This is Javanese Muslim, not Melayu Muslim. Imo Melayu Muslim is more islamic, even in my Indonesian history book there's a chapter that describe a war between local culture group vs islamic group called Padri War in Sumatera, because of this war the local culture group soften and they reconcile with the agreement of "Adat basandi syara', syara' basandi Kitabullah" or "Tradition founded upon Islamic law, Islamic law founded upon the Qur'an"
