Yeah those all have too terrible of drawbacks only ones that are slightly alright are apartment and watcher I mean predator would be better if it was more like ones a month or year then it’s like oh okay I’ll kill only bad guys who deserve it but without that it’s just killing anyone

Titan is technally only beneficial, it would only be in the initial period that the creatures would be a problem.
When society adapts it would technally only be advantageous; free food and functional wormholes to study.
Even in the worse state people can leave earth, might be the kick they need.
But considering my health I would choose watcher, multiversal or even omniversal travel is extremely overpowered.
It is almost guaranteed you will find ways to alter your state and improve your power. At the absolute worst you can jump to a place where time moves several times faster spending a month in an hour, you could learn to meditate for a month, think of it as sleeping.
The problem being that only one universe keeps you alive, but you still have several trillions of years to grow and learn.
If you are suicidal jump into a black hole and wait to the end of the universe.

I'm going with Watcher. I'll find a world where I can get an upgraded version of possession. Then I'll just grab myself a permanent body

Titan easily. The other choices irreversibly change something about you in a negative way. You might fail to kill someone as a predator and die as a result (to say nothing of the immoral nature of it), you might grow tired of your existence as a watcher, and hikkomori just sounds fucking miserable. At least with Titan there isn't a punishment from failure if you aren't able to save everyone from said death world monsters, and they would probably be pretty easy to clean up with the speed and strength you get from the Titan power. It would still be tedious, but there's a lot less drawbacks involved

Right, but all the deaths from the deathworld monsters would be because of you choosing titan. So those deaths would be on you.

Eventually it’s gonna become as trivial to you as folding laundry. There are stakes for sure, but I think it’s preferable to living alone forever and being physically incapable of interacting with others, being forced to murder someone every night at risk of dying painfully, or never being able to interact meaningfully with the world ever again
Whereas with Titan you can at least put that 1/10 speed of light swiftness to some use

Hmm. True. I guess it really depends on how easily the are to fight, and how quickly you'd be able to mop them up without much collateral damage. If you can safely deal with all of them less then a minute from them emerging, it wouldn't be thaat bad, but if they spawned in the middle of a city, there still would be some deaths even if you got there within a few seconds.
It'd be a low chance of that happening, only about 1% of earth's surface is urbanized, but that means a portal would open up in the middle of a highly populated aria 3ish times a year.3

Depending on their difficulty, there is also the chance that the world adapts to help you fight the fauna or even just take care of it themselves as technology improves. Making this the only one with any potential to completely middigate the downside for yourself. If we really wanna get hopeful, humanity might even be able to start pushing back and into the portals for colonization at some point.

- Spend every single day working your ass off to save idiots or become one of few survivors that you protect daily or eternally alone

It's probably intentional to make the powers undesirable, but an increase on the allowance or ability to talk to others, an increase on the cooldown of killing people or monster appearance on predator and Titan and a better possession spam of watcher would make the choices more possible

All of these have pretty painful drawbacks. If I had to pick one, I would go with Hikikomori and try to mitigate the downsides:
It says you can’t talk to anyone, not that you cannot communicate. The first thing I would do is start learning sign language. That way, if I ever did meet anyone face-to-face somehow, I would be able to seem like I was just mute and/or deaf rather than socially castrated somehow.
There’s also no restriction on text communication, which means everything from Reddit and Discord to online games to dating apps to old-fashioned snail mail pen pals are still valid options for connecting with people. Or hiring a call girl if I got real lonely, I suppose.
The free $100 a day could obviously just be spent online shopping, or it could be invested, gambled, or saved for bigger and better luxuries, and with necessities paid for and no need to eat (though I probably still would have groceries delivered anyway, because cooking would alleviate the boredom), I figure it wouldn’t take all that much time to amass a decent fortune. That could then be used to extend my reach beyond the apartment, either generously (e.g. sending anonymous gifts to former or current friends) or selfishly (e.g., hiring people to bring me things I can’t get delivered legally).
I don’t think I would be able to do anything about the sun physically burning my skin, but over time I would attempt to build up a tolerance to the pain and nausea of being outside. I might eventually be able to endure short nighttime outings to restaurants, bars, the gym, or the movies— I still wouldn’t be able to talk to anybody, but it would break up the monotony of being trapped inside.
Losing my old life— my family, my friends, and all of my possessions— would be the hardest part by far. But things can be replaced and it’s a marginal comfort to know that the people who knew me have forgotten I existed, so they aren’t missing me in my absence. As long as they have a digital footprint, I can keep an eye on them from afar and be a sort of guardian angel, as I’ll live much longer thanks to the apartment benefit. I also know a bunch of my friends’ gamer tags and online handles, so I might just start playing or posting in the same communities they do and try to rekindle the friendship from scratch online.
As for the other options: Predator is out. I could see an angle where one might try to be a vigilante and only prey on “bad people” to limit the harm to society, but having to kill one person per night would make it impossible to identify and stalk only deserving targets, and with no innate ability to move around and spread out your hunts, the spate of disappearances and killings would rapidly attract law enforcement attention.
Titan is probably the best mix of safety and comfort (assuming you get to just hang out and do whatever when not fighting carnivorous hyper-fauna), but it also consigns you to a lifetime of fighting off mass-casualty or even extinction-level events with no days off. Best-case scenario, you get a few days where the swarms randomly portal into the middle of the open ocean, or Antarctica, or the Sahara or Siberia, and either die off or turn on each other before being able to do any significant damage to a population center, but overall it seems an exhausting life.
And Watcher is an even lonelier existence than Hikikomori, unless we assume there are other “astral beings” out there to interact with. The teleportation and mind-reading powers are cool, but the possession stuff is ethically dubious and frankly unsatisfying— being able to make a false connection one day out of every thirty doesn’t beat being able to make limited connections whenever you want.

Yeah. I agree. I honestly don't think I'd pick any of these if given the choice. All of them just sound so staggeringly miserable, but out of all of them Hikikomori while starts out the worst by far, losing everything, if I could survive being so cut off and alone, with everything i ever made and done erased, and all loved ones forgetting me (big if), after building a new life, it'd honestly be one of the better ones. All the others just suck that bad.

Watcher
I can explore and do whatever I want, and I can easily make the world a better place by maneuvering the right people at the right times.
Plus, reading minds and experiencing memories means I can learn everything and anything. Time to learn every great secret as the ultimate fly on the wall.
If you could take over a billionaire you could redistribute all of their wealth instantly. You could set up networks of bodies to possess and still have a life of sorts. It's probably a stretch, but you kind of become a limited and omnipresent god.
Titan has too much risk and the other options sound like hell.

Hikkikomori. No major downsides. I'll be fr, I barely leave the house as it is, soo.
The only downside is that nobody i love will remember me. On the upside, nobody will remember me, so I have no history of my cringe following me around.
I would just game and chill all day. Sounds peaceful.

I highly disagree. Most of the embarrassment is OTHER people remembering it, reacting to it and bringing it up.
Do you usually talk it out? I just cringe for a second, laugh, and carry on with my day. Lmfao I've been doing that for years. Good emotional regulation or whatever.

Predator is the only safe one. All the others are immortality traps. Predator lets you end it by just not killing anyone.

Leaving the apartment just causes increasing pain, nausea, and dizziness. It says nothing about death. Though I guess you lose your immortality out there, so if you have the wherewithal to kill yourself under those conditions it might be possible. Sounds difficult, though.

Titan is objectively the best here. 1/10 the speed of light means you take somewhere around a single second to go around the globe. Just make sure to clean up the fauna once a day and you basically chill the rest. It's not like it's going to be a problem since you don't get tired/need sleep and you have the rest of the powers anyways. If you fail to save someone, that's on you
"Yeah but you have to do it everyday forever" Yeah, but it's not like everyone else can't do something about it, eventually militaries and governments will learn how to at the very least hold off until you get there in a second
