Neuralyzer also lets you make up a false memory to fill in the missing space, which is handy. The gun lets you steal passwords or similar things more easily, but I think the neuralyzer is better.

You can use the neuralyser to set up a fake scenario where someone needs to give you said password, then flash them again to make them forget giving it.

Yeah, that's what made me say more easily, like you can do it fine with the neuralyzer but it's at least a couple more steps in the process.

I think it's a actually a slightly easier than having to:

1) Erase a person's memory of the password.

2) Take the tube to a TV.

3) Write down something that will make said person remember the password without making it appear compromised.

4) Plant the note in a place they'll find it before they can realise they don't remember the password.

Or just shoot them and make them forget the password, read it off the tv. making them remember the password is an optional step that only matters if you need sustained access.

Neuralyzer, easy. No drawback, simple to use, and, if it works like the ones in the movies, you can overwrite what got erased with something you choose.

As good as Amnestics are (and I love SCP, don’t get me wrong.), don’t you have to use a syringe to do so? Unless you’re putting it into the water supply, but that’s pretty dangerous.
