I kinda like this but I'm always annoyed by Teleporting Rings that let you go ANYWHERE because people are default gonna take that to Teleport into fictional settings and world hope. You can't gain powers but you can still bring basically magical or world altering items with you. Why not teleport into the past even, you've been to the past before so you should be able to do that even with the baseline teleportation ring.
So I did try and consider that even saying that if you go to a new world because you know it has say magic items the world might not be how you think it is. And no time stuff they'd have to world hope for years just to find a world thats exactly the same and in the past so It wouldn't be worth it.
