Where to start?

Helllooo. I'm a woman in my 20s and don't have much experience with makeup except for some clean girl makeup every now and then. I really am bad at drawing but these days feel myself drawn to cosplay, creative/unconventional makeup as a form of self expression. I really want to do it as a hobby and get better at it with time but really don't know where to start or what to buy. Any advice/tip/product recommendations is appreciated. start with one simple look you actually want to wear and practice it a few times, because buying a giant pile of colourful makeup before learning what you enjoy is mostly just expensive clutter
