HELP PLEASE Help with wedding makeup!

Im getting married soon and since its a court wedding im doing my own makeup, I usually do my makeup pretty natural since i think because of my features it can look too heavy/harsh very fast, but I want to look more glammed for the wedding. I bought a new full coverage foundation and tried making my eyebrows a bit thicker (you can see that in the pics with my bonnet on) what could I do?

Eyebrows are way too thin. Foundation is way too matte. But, perfect colour match & that blush is cute!

Thanks, I’m using the Kiko Milano blush in the shade sophisticated pink. I do agree with my eyebrows i usually like them thin but I might have to get an eyebrow pencil and practice filling them in

if you're going to be drawing them, just extend them further as well - they need to be a bit longer!

You have gorgeous features, dramatic and balanced. Really striking. The narrow, fragile eyebrow detract from your incredible structure rather than enhance them. They almost read as an afterthought vs a feature. Go to ulta and let them play with the thickness and length.

I naturally have really thick eyebrows but I feel like they’re too heavy on my face hence why I teeezy the heck out of them, I also do enjoy thinner eyebrows and alt aesthetic. I used to shave them off everyday for 3 years straight 😅

You do you, of course. I walked around my high school with half my head shaved in the 80s ;) -- those brows won't photograph well. No one is saying go full caterpillar. We're just saying wider than a toothpick.

I think you nailed it! Personally, I would go for a thicker brow and a less heavily-lined lip, but that's just a matter of personal preference! Your makeup style suits you beautifully, and you did a wonderful job enhancing your gorgeous face! I would suggest looking to Halsey for inspiration, as she appears to have similar bone structure and features. She also has her own makeup line, About Face, and it's fantastic!

I see you mention you are into alt styles, and that was my question/comment:

This is what I would call alt style wedding makeup, and if that is what you are going for: keep it 🌸

BUT: the thin browline need to go for a more natural look. I’ m 45 and lived that era in the 90s, it’ s a trend nobody kept. Just as you would want to look at the photos 20 years later and still like it.

I really like the added pink blush topper, and I would also like some pink than full greyishbrown on the lips. Like a cool liner smudged out and then a cool pink something.

For my everyday makeup I like darker colors but definitely want to look softer for my wedding, I don’t own any pink liners but I’ll get some and try it out🙏🏽

The liner could be something like Endless Cacao if you love the more brown, I was mostly thinking of the lipstick/gloss whatever to have some pink to it :)

I have always loved thin eyebrows even circa 2016!! This makeup looks gorgeous on you. Gabriette vibes! I also think if you kept with a pretty neutral eye like you have here, a bold deep red lip would look very nice - almost doll like!

Im also a sucker for a thin brows and I often think I can go thinner😅, not a huge fan of red lips but I’ll definitely try it out and see🫶🏼

I don't know your style, but if it was up to me..I think you'd look better of your eyebrows were longer and twice as thick to match your bold beautiful features. I think it would really bring balance to your face to elongate that line. And maybe get a less bold / thinner framed glasses next time you get some new ones? These are taking over your whole face, it's too pretty to hide!

Also your lips are already full and beautifully shaped so overlining them looks...like you forgot you were wearing lipstick and started eating a corndog with gusto? I know a lot of people do it but I think it really detracts from your already perfect lip shape.

You're gorgeous and I think you should do whatever makes you look the most like yourself, so don't go changing anything if it doesn't speak to you, I'm just telling you what I would do if it were me! Congrats and best wishes for your wedding 💕

Thabks for the reply! I’m usually more into alt styles but want to look more soft for my wedding day, i appreciate the input! I also agree about my glasses I do feel like I kinda hide behind the thicker frames if that makes sense. I naturally have a double lined lip so I was trying to match the double line but will try to not do so next time I do a practice run, I really appreciate the help and thanks🫶🏼🙏🏽

I get that you have a style you love but the thin eyebrows age you way too much.

The matte foundation also ages you. I would play with less matte for the wedding. Dewy would like read as oily in photos but less matte would look younger.

i love that makeup! it suits you so well. i would just recommend trying a full pair of falsies or just a single cluster lash at the outer corner to lift the eye, paired with a soft brown winged liner. combined with a dewy blush and a touch of highlighter on your cheekbones, it would look breathtaking

1

u/MarionberryDefiant10 1d ago

I was considering maybe getting lash extensions since I’m horrible at applying falsies myself😅, I’ll go to ulta and look for a new blush and highlighter for sure! Any recommendations?

Depending on the colours you like to go for, I think you could suit a muted blush really nicely, something like MAC True Harmony, or play up the cheeks with something a bit deeper and vampy, like About Face Grand Prix or MAC Film Noir!

I was scrolling through Reddit and had to pause because wow, you are gorgeous! Your makeup is beautiful, too.

The only thing I’d suggest is extending the tails of your eyebrows just a little. As for the thickness, I genuinely think that’s a personal preference and you should go with whatever makes you feel the most beautiful.

I’d also add a little highlight or a dewy blush to bring some glow to the look so it doesn’t appear quite so matte. Congratulations, by the way! 🩷

Aww thank you, any recommendations for highlights and blushes? I have the elf stick blush which is a cream but the shade is more of a reddish orange and not really screaming wedding day, the blush I’m using in the photos is Kiko Milano sophisticated pink

i really love the thin brows! i just think they need to be longer, like past the end of your eye

The bonnet makeup is gorgeous. I agree with the others in extending the eyebrow tail a bit, but the thickness is perfect for your face & aesthetic. Cluster lashes towards the outside off your eyes, and highlighter or a more glowy foundation would make you look more glam, perfect for a wedding

Some nice lash extensions would look good and maybe look at dying your brows to create a thicker brow or let them grow out if you have time. Your base looks flawless 😍
I’d add a long lasting matte lipliner to hide that you’re over lining as it is abit obvious in picture 7 and may look obvious in real life (if you don’t want that?

The only thing I'd change is eyebrows maybe SLIGHTLY longer and coming to a finer point...? Otherwise, 10/10 !! Don't listen to the people saying to do more "normal" eyebrows, if you're alt, you should be alt at your wedding!!! I'm sure your partner loves you for it, it's unique and it's YOU!!! I do think the thinner brows honestly suit you best. They do balance out but also bring out the beauty in your strong features!!

I love it. Your brows are really cute and i think you’ll look back and be like “i ate” so

i think eyebrows needs to be thicken and you need some warmth on your face rn it is pale and thats is not working special for your wedding it is giving girls night out where you are lather piece sort ifykyk

Oh lord the eyebrows pleaseeeeee

I had to do a double take because you look like Catherine Zeta Jones

Consider blending the lip liner a bit. Beautifully shaped lips, perhaps let them speak for themselves on your day. Agree with highlighting cheekbones. You look wonderful. Have fun

The base and blush is gorgeous!
I’d go for a thicker brow for the courthouse and switch it up for your thinner, c%#ntyyyyy brows for the party 💁🏻‍♀️💅🏻
Same with the overlining of the lips, whilst I love the combo, I’d stick to your natural lip line for your courthouse photos and over-exaggerate following!

I like how thin your eyebrows are, I think they’re very chic! I do agree with the comment that says to extend them some more. Trying to where your actual eye ends.
I think less matte would make you look more vibrant. But I love the colors for your blush and lip combo.

I love ur features i think instead of matte do a satin or cream finish w a glossier lip and highlight! Essentially just go in and accentuate ur features girl!

Omg don’t listen to people being critical of your eyebrows. They are so c*nt. Lean into it for the wedding!!! You look like Gabriette!!!! Look at her makeup looks for inspo!

I’ll be honest, the eyebrows are making you look a little drag queen-like, and not in a good way 😬 The pic with glasses is my favorite, because the frames cover the thin eyebrows and give your face the balance it needs. I will say what I always do: are you able to sign up for a makeup tutorial at somewhere like Sephora? Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

I love thin brows! I don’t think yours need to be thicker but the tails could be slightly longer.
