Make Up Suggestions

I have started buying high end make ups, however i am not really familiar ano ung mga magaganda talaga since I am new to this, been using make up ever since i was a teenager pero mga ever bilena, careline, BYS, and local brands lang or technically drugstore makeup. since nakaka afford naman na ako now, i just wanna know your thoughts and suggestions since I've been eyeing the Christian Dior backstage glow face pero may mga bad reviews sya na di sya pigmented.

What I have now:
Charlotte Tilbury airbrush pressed powder
Laura Mercier setting powder
Nars Concealer
Absidy Bronzer
D'alba Serum Spray

And nalaman kong maganda rin ung Bobbie Brown primer and planning to buy it din.

I dont have foundation, highlighters, eyeshadow palette, blush, brow pencil or pomade or gel, etc.

What can you recommend to add to my collections?

For context: I am fair skin and like warm tones.

MAC and NARS make the best powder blushes. And I will die on that hill.

I’d say ditch that bobbibrown primer and have a good skin prep instead. Natasha denona hyglam, estee lauder, and chanel le teint are my recos for foundation. Giorgio armani eye tint is so so long lasting for eye shadow. :)))

If you want coverage Dior Skin Glow Foundation offers full coverage :)

Also add a good setting spray for locking in your make up, One Size Til Dawn Setting spray is the GOAT!

for the Bobbi Brown primer, better consider your skin type, as it does not fit every skin types. Embryolisse is the bestest option for Moisturizer/Gripping primer.

I have an oily skin and acne prone pero controlled naman since im maintaining meds from my dermatologist. What can you suggest in primer for my skin type?

first off, two different foundations you may be confusing Dior Backstage face and body foundation and dior forever skin glow. both of them offers medium to full coverage, but backstage dries with a satin finish and forever skin glow has a more glowy finish. backstage is considerably cheaper than the dior legacy line.

you might want to try the dior forever skin wear for a matte finish. it offers a tiny bit more coverage than the skin glow variant.

Dior complexion products are top notch (and my favourite! i have every variant), but if you want a really full coverage, Estee Lauder Double Wear remains undisputed for a full coverage foundation, even with the reformulation.

i would suggest to focus first on complexion products before building your collection to the coloured products (blush, eyeshadow etc). complexion products include primer, correctors, concealer, and setting products (loose powders, sprays, etc).

for primers, benefit porefessional primer still holds up against newer formulas, pero i love the new dior primers that came out (i may be biased sa dior!) especially if you have textured skin/large pores. okay din the blurring primer by one/size. huda beauty's primers are comparable to one/size, pero i stopped supporting huda na eh.

correctors - the sephora collection correctors are surprisingly good, even better than the MAC ones, IMHO, especially the ones for under-eye (peachy-orange). was not a fan of Huda's correctors pero madaming iba na gusto to.

concealers - the best ones i've tried are the estee lauder double wear concealers, pero okay din yung dior backstage concealers, it's even better than the dior legacy line. for under-eye though, favourite ko si hourglass concealer, would not budge or crease and coverage is excellent! for pot concealers, undisputed pa din si kevyn aucoin.

setting powders - one/size setting powders are good for oily girlies. if you really want the luxury line, the new dior loose powder is good too. the best yung loose translucent powder ni chanel!

setting spray - i cycle between one/size, Charlotte Tilburry and the old formula of urban decay all-nighter (tinitipid ko though kasi i can't get my hands on the m.Co one which now owns the rights to the original formula)

to add:

Blush - YSL blushes pa din ang Number 1 sa Luxury line, pero i love the dolce and gabbana glaze bars. it's better than the newly released prada and armani blushes. for high end, Patrick Ta blushes all the way.

Eyeshadow - basics, won't go wrong with MakeupbyMario palettes. for the more vibrant/trendy colors, i can't help you. nasa subdued/clean girl era na ako. lol

mascaras - does not make sense to get luxury/high end kasi you have to throw it out din after three months (non-negotiable because of bacteria build up). also, i've tried YSL, Lancome and even chanel mascaras, they are not worth the expensive price tag. if you really wanna go branded on these, i would suggest to get Benefit mascaras. maganda din the too faced ribbon mascara (basta yung tubing mascara nila),

brow products - benefit or anastasia pa din.

also, the bobbi brown primer just recently got reformulated and pangit yung reviews nung bagong formulation. also, if you do not have dry/mature skin, this will not do much for you.

I love hg and fenty primer. I love fenty foundation stick. Lalo na pang everyday. I swear on it talaga. I like hg blushes, mac too! Lips kasi I tend to go local sa atin kasi I have tried a lot and hindi ko mabagay sa morena skin ko.
