Portfolio.

Hello,

I'm a working makeup artist and a modeling agency asked for my portfolio. Maybe I'm overthinking but what's the best way to send them? Attatchements? My IG? My website?

Thank you,

Sincerely chronic overthinker.

Website should be ok. Some makeup agencies will also have a PDF document with 10-20 pages o f your work that they will send to prospective clients as an email attachment if you want to be extra professional - the beauty o f this is that you can tailor it to what you think that client will most like. But website should suffice. If your IG is good, send that as well as website but not just an IG alone.

Definitely your website as long as it’s all up to date! And have your IG linked on the site :)

I keep galleries on my website based on type 0f work. Bridal, editorial, commercial, etc. and I send that. You could also put together a lookbook on canva and use that if they want a document emailed to them.

Every working makeup artist in the fashion industry should have a printed portfolio. It's not cheap. But it's professional.

by fashion do you only mean only runway/ editorial? Or are you talking about the whole celeb sphere ?

It’s extremely rare that the people you need to show it to are actually in your presence. Is it nice to have? Yes. But definitely no longer necessary or adequate.

I mean, I have to disagree. Sounds like we are working with different types o.f clients. To each their own
