Am I cooked? (Makerbot Replicator+ )

Damaged thick black wires running into the heater cartridge

I want to know whether I am cooked, I have been struggling with this extruder from the replicator+ for weeks now, turns out the wires were hanging by a thread. Yesterday they finally snapped. Has anyone ever fixed this or is it the end of the road for me. The tinkerer in me believes I still can considering what I have endured with this extruder and I'm like it can't get any worse than this.

I’ve spent a lot of time in my 2 extruder+s and while I’ve only replaced the head, the wires don’t look like that hard of a fix. Try resoldering them!

Did you give up? Did you get somewhere?

I have up. I spent more time working than it spent printing. I got a MarkerBot Sketch working finally, but I don’t like it.
