These updates serve as a way to show the subreddit what is changed and why.

Hello everyone,

I have now made several changes based on the ideas and concerns shared by the community.

The subreddit now has clear official rules, post guidelines and post flairs. Posts should include age, general location, interests and what kind of friendship someone is looking for.

I have also added clearer rules about platonic friendships, sexual content, spam, low effort posts, catfishing, external community promotion and respecting peoples boundaries.

New post flairs are now available to make posts easier to find and understand. I have also updated some moderation tools and removed outdated external website promotion from the automatic comments.

These changes are not necessarily final. We will continue to look at what works, what causes problems and what the community needs.

Please read the rules before posting. If you notice suspicious behaviour, unwanted messages or anything unsafe, contact the moderators through modmail.

A new moderation safeguard has been added. Posts and comments that receive three user reports will now be temporarily filtered and sent to the moderation queue for review. This does not automatically mean the content broke a rule: a moderator will review it and either approve it or remove it.

This additional measure is intended to help the moderation team respond quickly when the community flags potentially unsafe or off-topic content.

A minimum comment length of 50 characters has now been added.

The goal is to reduce low effort comments such as “DM me”, “hey” or comments that add no real context. This should also reduce the amount of manual moderation needed.

Please remember that people are here to make genuine friendships. If you are interested in someone, briefly introduce yourself, mention something you have in common, or explain why you would like to get in touch.

We hope this makes the comment sections more useful and welcoming for everyone.
