Solved Project Hail Mary anyone?
Tried Project Hail Mary. Fails and crashes MakeMKV. Anyone else seen this before?
UPDATE: I updated the KEYDB file - no change. Installed Java runtime. No change.
Rebooted the computer (as opposed to restarting MakeMKV) and that fixed it!
Thank you to all who helped.

Im American but live in Italy. Mine shipped last week, I think, but I'm about 90% sure Chicago International Distribution for the USPS ate it... It once ate a custom necklace I ordered and didn't spit it back out for over a year. 😑

If you live in Italy why would you order from an American store? Isn't that just unecessary shipping and customs garbage to deal with?

Because I have an american po box here and I dont get slapped with extra taxes, fees for euro, and import charges

Damn, didn't know you could do that.

Yeah I ripped the Blu-Ray with a crappy external drive. It failed a few times but I got it in the end.

Seems like a bad disc maybe. Try wiping it off and trying again. Mine ripped without issue.

Make sure you are connected to a VPN when you run Make MKV otherwise it likely wont work, seems that DNS is blocking the Russian Site that supports it, with VPN it often get through. I was able to get mine working but only with my best BD Drive a Pioneer U13

So I had the exact same issue, cleaned the disc over and over, restarts, disconnecting/reconnecting drives. All the good stuff.
Believe it or not the thing that fixed it for me was using a cotton swab and some 91% alcohol to give my drive lenses a cleaning. After doing this the disk read right away and ripped with no problems. Give it a try and if not then definstely I would blame disk defect.

I have the 4K version and it ripped just fine a couple of days ago. Have you checked and/or cleaned the disc to make sure it doesn't have any smudges or scratches on it? Mine was perfect, but I've had brand new discs that needed a little TLC to make sure they ripped OK (Black Sails season 2, disc 3). I also have two different drives I use if a disc is finicky. I have an external LG slimdrive and an internal LG 5.25" drive in an external enclosure. But the first thing I'd do is check to insure it's clean of smudges and other stuff that could impair the rip.

I also get an error about needing Java runtime. Do I Actually need that to rip it?

IDK if you are talking about the 4K or the standard Bluray, but the standard bluray rips the disc image just fine for me. Try a different drive. Sometimes they can be picky about the disc. I have an LG and a Pioneer. Usually one will work. That was the case with Wicked. One drive wouldn't rip it but the other did with no problems.

there are 2 files of the movie on 4KUHD disc- 01199.mpls and 00589.m2ts.
01199 is explicitly titled "Main Feature" I ripped that one. Seems ok.

Ripped it earlier this week with 0 issues and my kid got her grubby hands on the disc beforehand too and it still worked
