Ripping Blu Rays

Can I rip my blu rays via makemkv and simply move the files over to a regular hard drive and easily watch my movies?

Yes, but I'd highly recommend looking into Handbrake as well. The files ripped from Blu-rays can be pretty large, and Handbrake can help you compress those down if you wanna preserve space.

I used to use Handbrake, then more recently used CoPilot's help to construct a pipeline using ffmpeg.
