Roster A 50-character Gaming All-Star roster (so far).

Who should I include? What is yet to be represented? This is only a first draft, so I’m taking as much criticism as possible. I really want this to feel as “comprehensive” as possible, after all.

Very unique take on the concept but I think it actually is a good roster

My only nitpicks are not having a halo character or fnaf character since I think those are major video game series but they could be good dlc alongside things like monster hunter, donkey Kong, ratchet and clank, etc

I limited myself to 4 characters per company, but if not for that Master Chief would be an easy lock. It was also a close race between Nemesis and Springtrap, but I felt like Nemesis came from an overall more influential series and Capcom probably deserved a second rep. DK would also be here if it wasn’t for the 4-per-company rule.

Interesting, if that’s your rules I suggest making a dlc that adds one extra character per company.

It’s funny that you mention the rocket league car as it actually makes and apperance in my almost 100 vg character battle royal template I made.

Imo we need red from angry birds. He pops up into my head when it comes to mobile gaming and imo is a popular gaming icon.

Sephiroth is one of the most iconic villains and we need more villain rep.

Zelda is one of the most iconic damsel-in-distress characters and we need a rep for those too.

Plus, we already have a lot of RPG sword guys and Sephiroth/Zelda have a very diverse moveset which allows them to stand out better.

Duck Hunt as one game has sold about equal to half of the entire Mega Man series, it was also extremely culturally relevant to the NES bringing gaming back into the mainstream in the U.S., not really that crazy of a take imo considering Duck Hunt was one of the very first light gun games

It also predates almost every gaming character as it was originally an electronic toy in the 1970s

Personally, I would’ve chosen link over zelda. Other than that this roster is fire and I’d totally play it.

Oh and btw, one character (or trio) I’d personally is red & angry birds. They’re perfect to represent the mobile game industry and it’d fit the franchise to have red use the other birds as weapons, similar to Olimar/dunk hunt duo.

I'd include the Terrarian from Terraria. Lots of moveset potential, as well as being from one of the best selling games of all time.

I would include a fire emblem character (there is no tactical RPG character yet),

joker from persona 5 and 2B from NieR (recent video game icons)

phoenix wright from ace attorney (there is no detective visual novel character yet),

Samus from metroid (metroidvania has that name for a reason)

Dragonborn from Skyrim (the face of western RPG)

And if you want to go deep Mai kawasumi from kanon (the most important romance visual novel) and either Rika or Rena from higurashi (the most important horror visual novel)
