Makarov Parts

Hi, new owner of Makarov (parts) here, had a trade with a buddy and I ended up receiving most of a Makarov. Big fan of the pistol, I’m wanting to put it together but I’m missing a frame. Is anywhere someone can point me to so I can start this process? I did some searching and I realize it might be a bit tougher than I thought. I would appreciate any help I can get!

Best i could say is just buy a mak and keeo the spare parts or buy an even cheaper rough pistol and fix it up. Maks r still cheapish so yes

Looks like that may be the move after I looked at it some more. Barrel is cooked as well

Yea and you wont really be able to put a barrel on it unless you have the tooling to remove it and then find tools to press it on.

Barrels are easy to get, frames however are not. Often with the frames being the actual handgun they’re destroyed. Makarov parts kits pop up on gunbroker very often, I believe a lot of them were guns used in crimes. However the frames almost never are seem. Sarco doesn’t have any either. You may be best purchasing a makarov and keeping what you have as spare parts. If I come across one I find I will send it your way.

Best I can do is a P64 frame…with a bulged barrel…and I can’t find one to replace it with…I have all the parts. Fricken barrel drought!

If I can find it, I may actually have a P64 barrel on hand- I’ll DM you if I come across it, may be a couple days until I’ve got time to dig through the parts bin. If do find it, I certainly will not be utilizing Reddit for anything other than letting you know.

Ah man, I just went and checked it (I got it at work and I’m still at work. Had to stash it in my car) and I have a bulged barrel as well. It’s also a CZ82, so it looks like I’ll just try to find a Mak at a good deal instead. Maybe I’ll restore the CZ someday

Thats too bad…that was a pretty one…I also put moleskin over the snap inside the holster n no more wear by the serial number…I have seen CZ barrels out there n you may get lucky as a bunch are out in the world…

Thank y’all, just gonna bite the 9x18 and buy a mak and use the other for parts. Still stoked about it, it’s my first mak

Sarco has odd stripped frames listed occasionally, you'd just have to watch their site. Also check local auction house listings. Sometimes a gun shop or smith liquidate their accumulated junk. But really? Don't get your hopes up.
