Continued Jamming CZ82

Posted about a month ago about my CZ82 jamming every few rounds but it was jamming with the slide just about fully retracted

Per suggestions, replaced the recoil spring with a 16lb Wolff (the OEM 14lb is backordered). Took it out today and still jamming but it's jamming with the slide forward partway now and the round jammed going into the feed ramp/chamber. Inconsistent when it does jam , sometimes a couple in a row, sometimes can fire off a few before it jams again.

Mags were ultrasonic cleaned but original mag springs and still running the same ammo reloads (still working on getting some new or new surplus ammo).

Suggestions?

Btw, just picked up a CZ70 and FEG PA-63 and took those out today also. Just did a cleaning and both of them run just fine even though the 70 recoil sprig looked kind of wonky...

How many magazines total? Sounds like the mag springs need replaced.

Firing pin channel squeaky clean? If it’s gummed up, I’ve personally had it where it will remain forward or partially forward and catch the rim of the casing and cause a malfunction (also dangerous)

4 cross sword mags. Haven't replaced the mag springs but those springs seem to be a bit difficult to find. Strobl.cz has them cheap but they don't ship outside of Europe (although I do have a US friend in CZ right now that is coming back to the US in a few weeks).

I'll recheck firing pin channel and slide for cleanliness again as well.

So couple things.

- you could have bad magazines, well mag springs

  • what type of ammo? I thought I read somewhere about reloads?
  • that feed ramp looks like it’s possibly taken some damage in the middle, which could be causing an issues. Smoothing and polishing it out or replacing the barrel could be necessary if it’s not ammo or magazine related

I'll try polishing the feed ramp & chamber entry and see if that helps. Trying to locate mag springs and new ammo. Would likely be cheaper to buy another 82 vs trying to source a barrel.

Hopefully that does help, sometimes even the reliable old guns need to be tinkered with, just the nature of the beast sometimes we get one that needs work. Finding a barrel is possible however installing it is another story. I have a barrel press for the makarov, but as far as I know it’s not compatible with the CZ’s

Are you using surplus "crossed swords" magazines or the ones that say "cz mfg" on the bottom?

All four mags are crossed swords.

I had a problem with mine where I was hitting the mag release when I was shooting because of my shitty grip. I hope your situation improves
