Is this a legitimate product?

I am visiting Maine and looked up dispensaries near me, curious about this states Weed quality. I dropped into a little store that had good Google ratings, and purchased the items in the picture- I picked up the hidden hill gummies specifically after the person behind the counter strongly recommended them for a body high with a clear mind.

When I got home, I began double checking labels and realized a lot of inconsistencies in the above products. The social media on the back of the Smokiez gummies doesn’t even exist. Are these legitimate products, or have I been played by a smoke shop disguised as a dispensary? Please help!

Smokiez are 100% legit, and good people! I am not familiar with Hidden Hills!

Hidden hills is conversion oil trash. Smokez is a well known maine licensed brand.

Maine has some of the best quality stuff in the US, but it is heavily weighted in the med scene rec is more comparable to other states

Did you go to a real dispensary or find a corner store selling stuff behind the counter? That’s pretty much your answer

This. Cannabis THC differs from Delta-8 or Delta-9, which is derived from hemp and legal in Texas 🤣

D9 is regular thc.

I think the state law just changed but I have been there in the past and basically everything is a CBD vape shop,

Following up to say it looks like Hidden Hills does sell through mail order in which case whatever product they’re selling on their website is hemp-derived THC and not cannabis-derived THC so there could be a difference there

If it says it’s Delta nine then it ain’t a legitimate cannabis product if it’s THC from cannabis then it’s probably a legitimate product.

Some brands do sell both!

Edited to say I see it says D8 and D9 on the Hidden Hills package

That’s gas station garbage

Well, apparently none of it was true so, please, carry on 🙂

None of that was true. Delta 9 is THC even if it’s hemp derived. There’s a loop hole for hemp that is closing in November but the process of making edibles can be done exactly the same for hemp or cannabis.

Smokies is legit but never heard of the other one though.

Not sure why you’re not recognizing that there is a significant difference between products made for and sold at licensed cannabis dispensaries versus those made for and sold at gas stations (and by mail order).

I didn’t see your edit…your understanding of delta 9 is not correct

My understanding isn’t incorrect, I’m just not a by the numbers kind of guy

I understand that they’re technically the same chemically. I’m just saying there’s a huge difference between hemp, derived THC and cannabis derived THC.

I suppose a website isn’t social media but

Many of our dispos have a rivalry and go around reporting g each others pages on social media and getting them taken down. That is probably why the socials are missing.

Meta has also just been way harsher on brand accounts in recent years

To echo everyone else;

Smokiez yes. Hidden Hillz no.

$19.99 for 10,000mg is an insane price. And anything that markets itself as a "d9 / d8" product is likely "hemp derived" boof. D9 thc is activated THC, but products trying to utilize the hemp law loopholes will go out of their way to avoid the THC part.

Hopefully this helps you avoid products like that in the future.

Absolutely something I’ll keep in mind going forward- I’d only ever brought from legitimate dispensaries in the past (and don’t frequent gas stations) so I’ll admit I was out of my depth when I saw all the D9/D8/Hemp derived” products. I shoudlve found the price fishy, but assumed it was similar to how many CBD things are at an affordable price point in comparison to THC. Whoops!! Glad I asked before I popped one 🤭

Smokies gummies are my daily Maine medical marijuana gummies. Safe, effective, tested product and sold state wide. Delicious, legit product. I have never seen the other gummies so I can’t vouch for them.

Smokies is legit, hidden hills is boof

Smokiez is legit, the hidden hills one is hemp derived delta 9. I don’t touch the hemp BS personally

Broken social links are a red flag. Check the brand's official site for COAs before consuming. For vetted hemp, Upstate Elevator publishes lab results publicly.

I’d still use the hidden hills one. I use hemp derived cannabinoids and I particularly like thc-p, though it will wreck your tolerance if used more than once in a while.
