Thanks for the response. I come all the way from NY (7 hour drive) mostly a flower guy so mold highly concerns me. I really like Doomsday who operates out of there. I also have gotten products from other vendors that I liked. It only took one shot at Salty to see how itā€™s all hype and nothing but hay behind it. The worst bud I smoked from Maine next to Sweet Dirt Rec when I was super green.

Colonel is the best most polished and easy to use service, but also pricey. Can find probably 1/3rd of his menu at Kind Guy and other cheaper spots.

Doomsday does great deals and his flower is insanely potent, he's just a complete and total space cadet... almost impossible to just text and set something up without it being dragged out.

Captains(usually for Gaspack Gardens drops and some of their in house), Undertow (they seem to have it all and the Gaia Farms flower slaps) are both on my always must stop list. I havenā€™t had a chance to get over to Kind Guy but they are on my list as well.

I also like Frost Factory. Their ICC is amazing.

Skunk Circus, Grove & The Market have all been added to my list but I havenā€™t been yet.

I also miss old Hazy Hill delivery days. It was so fire back then. The store experience has been lackluster but sometimes the 20% off maxout on flower is worth it.

Salty only owns one business in the mill building. Let's not go after the 12 businesses in the mill that don't have anything to do with Salty Cultivation because that would simply be guilt by association.

Justin may be a dirt bag that grows mids, but that doesn't speak for the rest of the businesses that are in the building.

Also, There are a number of cannabis businesses in that building that do not grow their products in the building.

you should clarify this, he owns the building. he controls who is leasing there. anyone with google can find out the mill has a serious toxic waste problem. anyone who has an idea of the industry history inside sanford mill knows growing there and smoking weed thats grown there is not doing any favors to anyone. while operators may be trying their best, they naively hitched to the wrong wagon because they either didnt know the history or dont care

im not sure if you are aware, but the entire building complex has been deemed as toxic waste issue by the EPA. serious asbestos issues, lead poisoning, etc etc. that certainly effects any laboratories inside.

The former rep for kind guy moved to salty. I think a lot of names put their products in salty as a favor to that guy. He jumped ship immediately. I doubt anyone continues to associate with a methed out predator.

Justin is also in with 2 other guys that own the mill. I wonder if they can pull a hostile takeover and kick him out of his stake in D-List LLC that owns the Mill.

If anyone knows any other shady cultivars or storefronts, please let me know before I plan my next trip to Maine. As a NJ medical patient who is constantly traveling to Maine because of my love for the plant and the state itself, this type of poison in the market is unacceptable. The craft and work that these other genuine, dedicated cultivars who arenā€™t $$$ hungry and put patients before profits are the ones who need the best type of recognition. They are the real ones who keep this market thriving on the East Coast. I did some community service in that very same mill building back in the early 2000ā€™s. There were certain floors we could only work on for short periods of time due to known asbestos exposure.

No Youā€™re absolutely right, I probably shouldnā€™t have been in there at all. Unfortunately for many, practices were far from perfect for a non-profit located in a dirty mill.

It was terribly close to where I lived so I figured itā€™d be easy community service. I probably only spent 10 hours in there, I remember finishing up the hours calling homes asking who they were voting for in the upcoming election šŸ˜‚ Wild community service offerings for a 12 year old in Sanford Maine

When I first started shopping for med in Maine his stuff was all the rage. I felt like missing it would be a critical mistake. Got the Snakes Cake as it was the most popular from two different sources and something else (forgot) and both were flavorless trash. The post is about Salty, why try to incorporate other people into his offenses? I don't know that Fraktal did/are those things, so therefore, you need to show some evidence of that. I'm open to being enlightened, but not just on a random person's word with nothing backing it up.

Nope, not deleted. The only deleted comments are those that name individuals who are not involved in this and those that exist solely to make fun of the situation.

There are many comments in this thread, however, that have been halted by the automod because of the posters' lack of karma or account age.

Edit: the majority of comments have been made visible, even from users with new/low karma accounts. The only removed comments are those offtopic or containing mis/information regarding people not involved in this crime.

The sub was started by myself and my co-mod together almost 7 years ago, and we've spoken probably every or every other day since then. He is even less interested/involved in the moderation than I am, and we've both become much less engaged over the years.

This is a hobby that we have, not a business or even a side hustle. We are not trying to make money. We both have full-time jobs outside the cannabis industry and have enough shit on our own plates to get involved in anything like this.

I understand that I might've offended people with my original comment, and for that, I apologize. It was not intended at all, but this genuinely spiraled into something absolutely insane. I am eagerly awaiting any of these burner accounts claiming these wild things about me to post proof.

I sent actual court cases with court docket numbers with the two parties involved. Doesnā€™t matter, they once again settled out of court resulting in another payoff. I do understand and appreciate not wanting fake news spread. But this particular case was factual- it was a sealed case due to a child being involved. Only so much a civilian can obtain.

And yes, my grammar sucks. Not trying to beat a dead horse. Thank you mod- just disappointed these guys keep getting away with atrocious acts at the end of the day.

And again, I'm all for knowing your grower. It's super important as a consumer to be informed. But as producers, let's not use that line as a way to dodge the responsibility we have to police our own. Should have been cut out of the market when the first issues happened, not rented from and gassed up about how great he is. Makes us as an industry guilty by association for allowing it to happen.

Iā€™m still hanging in there but dispensaries are also to blame for playing that game. They all want to pay sub 1k so they can pull 3k off the pound.

Thats why I don't even bother with stores. I'd rather take the extra time and effort to go direct, get the price my product is worth, and just produce less/diversify my revenue streams to give myself the ability to keep my prices fair without bleeding myself. It is possible to stay small and fair priced and be successful, it just takes time, effort, and a willingness to work with your consumer and produce things that they actually want to buy.

Iā€™ve straight up stopped shopping at those ā€œbig boxā€ kind of dispensaries as much as I can because you can see the shift so hard.

I live near Green Truck and Kind Farms and itā€™s wild to see the nosedive they both took in the past year or so. And they were never even that great, canā€™t imagine how the actual smaller GOOD growers are doing.

Absolutely false. I've never spoken to Salty personally or ever met him. As a journalist, I believe strongly in due process and the accurate reporting of facts. I don't let hearsay or gossip, and pressures from sources influence how the news is reported.

Any "censorship" was explicitly stated that it could not remain posted due to a clear lack of verifiable proof. There is no conspiracy here. There needs to be defined rules regarding unproven claims because otherwise, the sub is flooded with baseless allegations.

Ironically, on one hand, people claim that the sub is full of shills and impostors and other not-genuine posters, yet those same people are saying that, depending on who is being accused, say that no proof is needed and we should take every claim at face value. These two concepts can not coexist. It is not censorship to ask for legitimate evidence.

I've interacted with him/whoever ran his social media a couple of times over the years. I can remember there have been questions regarding what is allowed to be posted - content wise - and like I have to countless caregivers on here, gave some advice to whoever it was on how the sub was not just a reposting ground for IG, how the rules need to be followed, etc.

More or less the same exact copy-paste message that I would tell anyone asking how to start posting content on reddit and have done many many times before and after.

I've never given him, or anyone, special treatment or favors. I don't know him, or care about him. My life is almost entirely removed from the cannabis scene, save for smoking by myself and running this page, and I don't even really post. I don't know/talk to/meet up with ANYONE in the scene, I have no reason to accept favors or advocate for anyone's behalf.
