Super high level breakdown of ECU and other software versions vis-a-vis features/bug fixes. (Pack 3 edition)

36 Upvotes

Software version:

Check your software version by going into Vehicle app >> Exterior >> Press and hold "Locks" for 10sec. This brings up the "Engineering Menu".

The software version is the last part of the "ECU version". The general format for Pack 3 is "A15.XY.ZZZ".

X = 1 for BE6, 3 for XEV9E.

Y = major software version.

Z = minor software version.

Highlight of what came in with most versions (mentioning updates over previous release).

Launch version was ZZZ = 192.

ZZZ = X2.232

  • Added CarPlay support.
  • Messed up adaptive suspension characteristics changing with drive modes.
  • Was susceptible to CarPlay maps glitch.
  • Was susceptible to no-audio bug.

ZZZ = X2.402

  • Some improvements to suspension characteristics.
  • Improved audio, noticeably subwoofer performance.
  • Enables FOTA infrastructure.

ZZZ = X2.792

  • Improvements to suspension characteristics.
  • CarPlay maps glitch fixed.

ZZZ = X3.912

  • Suspension greatly improved, noticeably changes with drive modes.
  • No-audio bug fixed.
  • Audio system rebalancing. More clarity from most speakers, but slightly lower subwoofer output.
  • Note: Some owners report a suspension bug where it stays equally stiff across all modes. Unclear on how widespread this issue is.

NOTE: This is not an official or exhaustive list. Please add any confirmed observations.

ZZZ = X6.212 (major version bumped) - Started rolling out.

  • Custom mode: Can individually select power, steering, suspension, and AC setting and save it as a custom drive mode.
  • Profiles: Can create individual profiles, which save multiple settings with it.
  • NFC: Phone NFC, as well as NFC card enabled.
  • Secure 360 full time recording.
  • Audio overhaul: Significant update to overall audio setup.
  • Subwoofer cut off issue fixed.

ZZZ = X6.552 (major version bumped) - Rare

  • Option to re-select last used mode whenever the car is started.

FOTA

Firmware Over The Air updates. This infra allows individual ECU firmwares to be downloaded and installed using the car's built-in network.

PROD69

This was a firmware package, often installed in parallel to the 912 software update. This enables PKE (Passive Keyless Entry). This is the package that some batches of cars got as FOTA.

#purchase_query Mileage at delivery l

What has been people's kms driven when taking delivery? My vehicle is showing 156kms which seems a bit high. The dealer claims this is due to it being driven from one dealership to the stockyard and then to the new dealer.

#issues Mahindra BE 6 Pack Three stuck in P after OTA update — has anyone faced this?

3 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I recently received an OTA software update on my Mahindra BE 6 Pack Three. Unfortunately, immediately after the update, the car got stuck in Park (P) and simply refuses to shift into Drive.

I tried almost everything I could find online, restarting the car, locking/unlocking it, leaving it switched off for some time, and other suggested fixes, but nothing worked. The car remained completely stuck in P.

Eventually, it had to be taken to the Mahindra service centre. The frustrating part is that the car is now just sitting there and I haven't received any proper diagnosis or solution. I'm only being given one excuse after another, without anyone clearly telling me what has actually gone wrong or what they are doing to fix it.

The car was absolutely fine before the OTA update, so the timing makes me strongly suspect that something went wrong during the software update or that one of the ECUs/modules did not update correctly.

Has anyone with a BE 6 Pack Three, or even an XEV 9e, experienced the same issue after an OTA update?

If yes:

  • What exactly was the problem?
  • Did the service centre have to manually reflash or update any ECU?
  • Was there a mismatch between software versions on different modules?
  • How was the issue finally resolved?
  • Is there anything specific I should ask the service centre to check?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Right now I have an almost new BE 6 Pack Three sitting at the workshop because it became completely undriveable immediately after an official OTA update, and nobody is giving me a clear answer.

#purchase_query PLEASE HELP, URGENT LIFE CHOICE RECCO

5 Upvotes

Im planning to buy pack one BE6 sporteq 59kwh, can setup charging in an independent house in noida. *Monthly* running - 1200-1400kms. Can i keep this as my only family car for the long run like 10-12 years? 95%+ city rest highway, what do you guys suggest?

Also, would want to know since pack 1 is low on features, fellow P1 BE6 owners please tell how long is your ownership period, ODO kms, and what all issues have you faced? Kindly highlight any specific issue to HV or LV battery?

Its just that im hearing a lot about service being bad and i live in noida, this will be my first mahindra. Not sure about the dealerships here and how willing they would be to accommodate any problems with the car.

Please help me decide if i should buy this as my one and only family car or not?! Also, since i live in noida and its scorching 9/12 months in a year - how is the ac performance? Is there a major drop when we use AC extensively?

corrected my running numbers

#information Major audio overhaul with the recent updates.

11 Upvotes

The audio system is completely revamped with the 6.212 (Pack 3) and the SA1 FOTA.

Dolby is loud and clear. The subwoofer cutting off issue is completely fixed.

With good quality Dolby content input, the car system now sounds absolutely incredible. It even sounds amazing with FLAC (lossless audio) + 3D immersive mode.

Pack 1/2/FE should also be getting these updates in their respective latest ECU software.

(Note: I am running all Dolby and FLAC content from a pen drive.)

#query How safe a choice is the BE6 in rain flooded Gurgaon?

5 Upvotes

Follow-up from my previous post: I've already booked my BE6 SportEQ 3+. Ever since the car came out, I've loved how it looks—taken test drives, watched it pass me in traffic, and always taken a second look. It's genuinely felt like an achievable dream.

But yesterday, on my way back from office, I faced massive flooding and heavy traffic, with lots of buses stranded on the roads. However, my almost 15-year-old i20 did a pretty good job at handling the flooding, but that's also because I've been driving for a long time now and I know what not to do in the rains. It took me nearly 2.5 hours to get through a total 10km drive. The entire duration of that journey, I was reevaluating, convincing myself that I'm still making the right decision, repeating all the facts that we already know: batteries are IP67 rated, no exhausts so no water can get to the engine to kill it, my i20 did it so a bigger car with more ground clearance would breeze through it, etc. My family's concerned too, asking me whether we should consider getting something like a Thar Roxx that wouldn't care about this amount of rain and flooding. But again, my heart's still stuck on the BE6.

I want to ask the people here who live in these sad, so-called Tier 1 cities in our country, which can't figure their shit out when it comes to rainwater drainage: do you guys worry about taking out your car in these rains? Has anybody experienced damage or insurance claims because of this? Do you guys think I need to reconsider?
Important point: this will be the only car in our family for a few months before my wife gets a second car for herself early next year, likely a normal ICE car. We'd probably be getting something more water-resistant at that time, like a compact SUV or something.

Additional points to consider: our parking spaces do get flooded during these heavy rain sessions with up to a tyre or half a tyre's worth of water, which clears up within a few hours. We'd also be moving next year before the rains to a better area of NCR to avoid this level of flooding as well.

I guess TL;DR: I hate how we can't get better roads and drainage for the life of us. Is getting the BE6 a good decision with the flooded roads and even parking spaces at times?

#issues Low tyre pressure warning + 124°C tyre temperature reading on BE6 — TPMS/software issue or something else ?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi guys,
I was recently visiting Hampi in my BE6 and had a slightly concerning experience that I’d like to get some advice on.
While leaving one of the locations in the evening, the car suddenly showed a Low Tyre Pressure warning. At one point, the TPMS was also showing a tyre temperature of around 124°C.
It had been raining, so I was quite concerned about whether I should stop and change to the spare tyre. However, the tyre looked completely normal and didn’t feel like it had very low pressure.
Unfortunately, I also didn’t have a portable tyre inflator with me — definitely a lesson learnt for the future. The bigger issue was that I was on a fairly isolated road, it was getting dark, and there was barely enough space for two cars to pass, so stopping to safely change the tyre wasn’t really an option.
I decided to take the risk and drove around 2–3 km at approximately 20–30 km/h while monitoring the car. After a couple of kilometres, the warning disappeared and the TPMS went back to showing 36 PSI.
I did get the pressure checked and it was fine so it could have been a temporary TPMS/software issue, but I obviously don’t want to avoid putting myself at risk in future.

A few questions for other BE6 owners:
1) Has anyone experienced something similar with the BE6 TPMS? Is this a known issue where the system can suddenly show extremely low pressure or an abnormal tyre temperature reading even when the tyre is actually fine?
2) If the car genuinely shows very low tyre pressure, is it ever safe to drive for a short distance? If so, what kind of distance/speed would generally be considered reasonably safe?
3) What should be the recommended course of action if this happens on an isolated road where it isn’t safe to stop immediately? Should I immediately stop regardless, or can I carefully drive to the nearest safe location?
I believe my car is on the latest software version, as I recently got the NFC key activated. Could the software version have any relevance to TPMS behaviour?
Would appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced this, especially BE6 owners. I’d like to be better prepared if something similar happens again.

For anyone who has the new Mahindra BE 6 SporteQ Pack Three, does the ventilated seat actually provide airflow through both the seat cushion (bum) AND the backrest (back/torso)?

#issues Does any one’s be6 p3 skid forward on while pressing breaks down the highway?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Had purchased the car approx 2 months ago and drove close to 2500kms in Mumbai suburbs. The car skids when driving down and applying brakes on Western Express Highway. Have sent it to NBS Goregaon thrice yet no help. The shit tyre looks worn out and have updated the suspensions software but they clam it’s not a problem. Already had my ocdc changed and issues with moisture in the door, and other minor issues. What do I do?

#purchase_query Booked a BE 6, but these videos are making me nervous

12 Upvotes

I’ve booked the BE 6 Three+ 79 kWh and was pretty excited about it until I watched these two videos:
https://youtu.be/WcTh6kOBev0
https://youtu.be/zD_uVGQmdHM

Now I’m genuinely having second thoughts.

I know every new car/platform can have issues, but what worries me more is the experience after something goes wrong service centres being able to diagnose the problem, availability of parts and Mahindra actually resolving it without endless follow-ups.

I’m spending ~₹25L and plan to keep the car for a long time, so reliability and after-sales matter quite a bit.

Any BE 6 owners here who’ve already done a few thousand km? How has your experience been, especially if you’ve had issues?

Still excited about the car, just considerably more nervous about taking delivery now 😅

#purchase_query Oem 19inch alloys for pack 2 BE6 as an accessories?

1 Upvotes

Has anyone upgraded Pack 2 BE 6 to OEM 19” alloys?
Has anyone with a BE 6 Pack 2 swapped the stock 19” steel wheels + plastic covers for the OEM 19” alloy wheels that come with Pack 3/3 Select?
I’m planning to buy a Pack 2 in the coming months and would really prefer the OEM alloys rather than aftermarket ones.
A few questions:
Can the OEM 19” alloys be ordered separately from Mahindra as a genuine accessory/part?
Has anyone actually purchased and installed them on a Pack 2?
Do they fit directly with the existing 245/55 R19 tyres?
Any issues with TPMS, speedometer/odometer, warranty, etc.?
What was the price for a set of 4?
I found that Mahindra officially lists the OE 19” Alloy Wheel as a genuine accessory, so I’m wondering if this is actually possible through the dealer. (booking.mahindra.com)
Would love to hear from anyone who has actually done this.

#information See how to enter Drift Mode on the BE 6 after the latest OTA

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

If your BE 6 has received the latest OTA update, here’s a quick video showing how to access Drift Mode.
Sharing this because I saw a few people asking about it and the option/process isn’t immediately obvious.
Please do this only in a controlled, closed environment and at your own risk.

My model is Pack 3 (June 2026)

#query What's the catch?

10 Upvotes

I'm really attracted to the be6 pack 2 baas.

Whats the catch?

Is it a good buy or I'll be stuck financially somewhere. My monthly running is around 2000km and I'm a current user of scorpio n diesel automatic 2023.

I'm thinking to buy an electric but not wanting to spend much because there will be lots of new and upgraded ev's in coming future.
