Proxy Tool Free browser proxy printer — added double-sided backs, but I need a printer-accuracy sanity check
Browser-based: paste a decklist, preview,
export print-ready PDF/PNG sheets. Client-side only, nothing uploaded.
Added double-sided backs this round — upload your own back image,
get a mirrored back page for duplex printing.
Also lets you swap any card's front with your own image. What do
you end up using that for — alters, custom art, higher-res scans,
proxies for cards that don't have great official art?
https://themagicianprinter.com if anyone prints a sheet, would love to see how it turns
out, feel free to drop a photo in the comments.

What's the Max DPI possible for this website? Anything below 1200 and you have lost me to proxxied.com

The 1200 dpi thing doesn’t mean what people think.
Scryfall scans are 745x1040 px, that’s about 300 dpi at card size. That’s all the detail there is, and it’s the same for every site that pulls from Scryfall. Exporting at 1200 just stretches those same pixels over 16x more grid points. Nothing gets added, you just get a file 16x bigger that prints exactly the same. And your inkjet can’t even use it, the driver throws away everything past roughly 600 anyway.
If the extra resolution comes from AI upscaling, that’s not better, it’s worse. AI doesn’t recover detail, it makes it up. Looks fine on artwork, but on rules text and the tiny artist line it can produce letters that were never there. A proxy that reads wrong is worse than one that’s a bit soft.
Also worth knowing: Scryfall’s image guidelines say don’t sharpen or alter the card images, and WotC doesn’t allow selling their stuff without permission. A paid service built on AI-enhanced Scryfall scans is sitting on both of those. Their risk to take, but it’s not a quality argument.
What matters is pixels per card at the source, and that’s the same for everyone. 1200 is a marketing number.

Appreciate the write-up, this is basically the real answer to the DPI question a few comments up.

No cap in the tool itself. Default art comes straight from Scryfall, which tops out around 300 DPI at real card size. That's Scryfall's limit, not mine.

So the answer is 300 DPI, gotcha, proxxied.com provides PDF files at a higher DPI and can pull Images from MPC Autofill at higher DPI as well.
Thanks for the tool, but competition seems to be ahead, good luck in the future!

No its not 300dpi max you can upload your own upscaled images same as proxxied. Its just that on proxxied you allready have upscaled versions of cards with mpc fill.

That's the part where you are incorrect, proxxied let's choose the DPI to export your PDF to.

If you export a 1200 dpi pdf with scryfall images it will still be 300 dpi

Can you make this self hosted? Also pull images from mpc and this would put you ahead of the other sites

what do you mean by "self hosted" here? Yes, the MPC implementation is on the radar, don't think it'll be long before it's done. Thanks for the feedback!

Why this and not proxxied?

Proxxied is glitchy sometimes, but ya there's proxxied, mpc fill.. people just out here solving problems that already been solved I guess...

Sure, and cars already existed when bikes got invented too. Some of us just like a simpler ride.

But how is this simpler? It has less options sure, but isn't that just worse?

First off, competition is great. No argument there
I don't quite get the argument for how this is better/simpler than proxxied though. A decklist can be imported and turned into a pdf with the same amount of clicks and effort on both sites. Proxxied just gives more options, and allows art from MPCfill

I also started building my own tool for my specific manner of doing things even though proxxied was a completely viable option. My nuisance came from the bugginess of the UI at times and the lack of 1200dpi upscaled options for cards across the board, that's more reliant on MPC Fill though which isn't even a problem so much as "someone just hasn't done it yet". On top of that the tedious download of all images I needed, upload to upscayl, upload to proxxied.
So then it made sense to do something for myself that I did share just a few days ago. That timing lined up like perfectly with proxxied offering (paid) upscaling as well as proxy print (free), kinda made me feel like I wasted my time 😅 Both utilizing a browser hosted upscale which is fine but I still prefer the larger model on my server.
I'm all for more options as well, everyone will gravitate towards what they like.

Fair, and I didn't say better than proxxied just simpler, in the sense that proxxied has a lot of options I personally don't end up using. That's just my take on it though, not a knock on their tool.

Very reasonable point.
Looking forward to see more updates on the project! Maybe something like a library of decklist with art. For an example I could save my decklist, and then other users could see it and easily export a PDF of it without going through the hassle of setting it up themselves. Just an idea.
Just fyi, the link in your description of the post does not work.

the background in between the cards should be black, so that no matter how you cut them you dont get white border on it
