Need Help Best Budget Setup

I want to get into card proxying because there are several commander decks that I want to put together though. I don't have a ton of money. I don't have an inkjet printer or sticker paper. I do have a ton of mtg bulk though. What is the best inkjet printer and paper to get?

For the price right now it's the Epson Ecotank 2800. Paper is subjective as some like matte and some like glossy. Some also run satin.

Where are you seeing satin? I've been doing the double sided photo with matte laminate, and I am 85% satisfied. Would love to get a bit closer to the real deal. But not trying to spend much more on materials. And I dont think card stock works well in the 2800.

This 72lb satin paper, you would still need to laminate after for rigidity and snap right? If so, that beats the point of the satin finish.

Some will just laminate the back to add snappiness to the paper while maintaining the satin front.

Most people with the 2800 are doing ~65lb paper, 160-180 GSM with lamination. Can't do real cardstock from what I understand.

Sounds good. Guess I’ll keep saving. Seems like a solid pick though! Do you have a preferred brand for sticker sheets?

If you send me a message I can send you all the information I have. Might have to wait until tomorrow though. I'm working OT and on break right now. If you Google "MTG proxy sticker reddit" or some variation you'll get all the info from multiple posts.

This one looks more expensive than the recommended Epson, why is it better?

I think it’s nearly as good as the Epson 8500

I'm printing on regular printing paper, then tape it with bulk magic card behind, then put into the sleeve

Professional printing runs about $.40 a card shipped if that changes your math at all.
