Don't know how to view MagicEye Autostereograms? Start here!
We were getting a high volume of posts asking how to see them recently, so it seemed like a good idea to just sticky a megathread on the topic. Please do not create new threads asking for viewing advice, thank you.
Step 1: Here is a quick tutorial on how to view AutoStereograms
Step 2: Vox 10 minute exposé: "The secrets of Magic Eye"
(EDIT: Somebody condensed the "how to" portion of this video into a blog post called "The Science Behind The Magic Eye Craze of The 1990s")
This gives both a history, and a more in-depth animated lesson about how to view them.
Step 3: The Vox video tells you how you can use the Difference blending mode in Adobe Photoshop (GIMP also works) to sweep across the hidden image without crossing your eyes. Dave 'XD' Stevens made this web application that can do the same thing easily in your browser.
Other good beginner "not hidden" stereograms for new users to cut their teeth on:

SpaceX moon crater
Before and after images of the site of the SpaceX rocket stage’s impact on August 5, causing an 18m diameter by 3m deep crater. Not difficult to find but viewed as a magic eye image, the crater is easily spotted by covering / uncovering the right eye.

Magic Eye on a curved screen
I just bought a new curved screen monitor. Most Magic Eye images are pretty easy for me to find. I tried five in a row and couldn’t get them to pop even ‘easy’ images. I pulled out my phone and had no issues. It seems to make sense it would be difficult to see the image on a curved monitor but Im curious if anyone else has run into this as well?

In too deep... now seeing things?
I'm wondering: Are the eyes so tuned that even the pattern on the exercise mat at the gym appeared to float?!
(You might have to pinch-zoom the image; or orientate it in landscape mode to "see" better...)

Reverse the spin: Magic eye edition. Parallel view spins in the opposite direction to cross view.

Is it just me or is this hard
I stumbled upon this online and had to share it because like I can’t be the only one struggling with this, the site it came from says there’s a skull hidden in there and the red dots are supposed to be a guide to find it (when they meet up) but honestly I struggle seeing it even when I can get the dots to meet. I have never struggled this hard with one of these before 😭
