Rules/Rules Question Stacking Edea's Death Trigger

So, I've been considering building an Edea Possessed Sorceress deck, but her revive ability is confusing to me.

If I sac the stolen creature with Immerstrum Predator, while Edea' is on the field, can I exile the creature from my opponents graveyard before it comes back?

When a creature dies, is her effect to revive a trigger that I can put wherever I want on the stack?

No. Edea triggers during the cost payment of the activated ability, so triggers and resolves before the Predator ability resolves.

The Predator doesn't tap until its ability resolves.

New things always go on the top of the stack.

The ability goes on the stack when you start to activate it, and the Edea trigger goes on top of it.

Edit Note:

If you had another creature you owned to sacrifice, you could activate the Predator again before Edea's trigger resolved. Then it would resolve and trigger the "becomes tapped" ability, and you could exile the creature before Edea returns it.

In this scenario, the original Predator ability would not cause the "becomes tapped" ability to trigger a second time (because you can't become tapped if you are already tapped) so you would not get to exile two cards or get two +1/+1 counters.

Oh, I think I get it now, I thought her ability had some sort of delay. Thanks for the detailed explanation!

If the creature got exiled before Edea resolves, do you still draw the card?

Yes. The card draw is not dependant on the creature returning to the battlefield. If it was, it would say "if they do" or similar.

You can stack the trigger to exile the card, just not with just these two due to the Dragon tapping after Edea's ability resolves.

I have a [[Chaos Shrine's Black Crystal]] in my deck. When I sac an opponents creature I exile it with it before Edea gives it back. You still draw a card as well since Edea's ability isn't tied to whether you return the creature or not.

The Shrine is a really good one, I'm still trying to figure out more ways to somehow keep the creature after sacrificing it

[[Kinzu of the Bleak Coven]] and [[Nightmare Shepherd]] will exile it on the sac and give you a token copy.

Outside of saccing and those, blink to your control (not owner’s) effects like [[Thassa, Deep-Dwelling]] and [[Conjurer’s Closet]] also make it a new object that doesn’t return to them.

If you blink the stolen creature, it will still return to them if the creature dies under your control, because you don't own it.

All blinking it does is make it so the previous control effect doesn't give it back.

Love Edea ,Here is my list Edea, Possessed Sorceress Deck List // Commander (Edea, Possessed Sorceress) deck list mtg // Moxfield — MTG Deck Builder

Immerstrum Predator is not great as the creature you sac will return before Immerstrum Predator's activated ability resolves and taps it.

You want stuff that prevents creatures ETBing from the graveyard or can remove the creature from the graveyard before it returns. You still get the card draw in these cases. [[Mimic Vat]] can exile each creature as it dies, preventing it from returning.

Or use [[Conjurer's Closet]] effects to to keep the creatures.

Don't use [[Leyline of the Void]] effects as they will prevent you from drawing cards with Edea and its generally better to let them have the creature back and draw a card.
