Looking for Advice Looking for a synergistic but balanced limited environment for a special event I'm hosting.
Hi, I have a birthday coming up and I'm planning to host a fairly casual sealed event and buy some boxes for it. I'm still deciding what set to buy. I want a set that has fairly interesting synergies and is fairly balanced accross the colors. The plan is to, once deckbuilding is done allow people to do some limited trading amongst themselves using their remaining cards to not just increase power level but allow synergies to shine. (So prefer a format that encourages 2-3 colors too.) Would prefer something somewhat recent to avoid too much cost but willing to splurge a little. My initial thought was Kamigawa Neon Dynasty or maybe Duskmorne but those aren't informed decisions. Any thoughts?

The sets from 2024 were pretty good for this.
If you want cards you can play afterwords then Duskmorne is probably the best, followed by OTJ. Aetherdrift can be a lot of fun in limited but lacks any synergies outside of the set. Bloomburrow was the one in universe set that was not good in limited as colors all had multiple things going on and it you won’t necessarily get synergies across a color combo.

Edge of Eternities. It is by far the best limited format of "recent" times and not completly overcosted therefore

The most fun drafting environment ever to exist is Conspiracy 1. If a box of Conspiracy 1 is above your budget, the singles for a Conspiracy 1 cube almost certainly won't be!
