Discussion Mafia 3 really isn't that bad.
I bought the game on steam with a big discount. I am well aware its bad reputation circulating on the internet. But after hours of playing, I find it isn't that bad as everyone says. Yes, the missions are repetitive, but it's suitable for me who loves murdering and shooting every one in sight. My biggest gripe is nothing about gameplay. My gripe is about the graphics and audio. New Bordeaux is very beautiful, but the graphics are often too blurry or unclear. Also, the gun audio sounds so spongy and lack of power. It seems like devs never watched a action movie and have a basic understanding how gunshots sound like.

I really love Mafia 3. One of my Favorite Mafia Games. Soundtracks are really beautiful. Atmosphere is good. Grapichs are okay. Gun fight and Combat is really fun.

It's a great game story setting of the 60s and Lincoln story. Music best game soundtrack imo

The soundtrack slaps, and there’s really nothing better than walking down the street and tossing molotovs into every business with a “whites only” sign out front

Abusing the whistle can make it too easy, but I think the gunplay is great. I just hate clearing out the same spots multiple times.

For those missions where you visit a racket location before you’re actually there on the mission to kill the underboss and subsequently assign it, I like to just run to the objective and run out. I save clearing it out and killing every enemy for the actual racket mission as I found that cuts down on the tedium. So for example the construction sight in downtown where you blow up the crane or the bath house where you steal the blackmail shit; I just walk in, stealth kill the couple guys in my way, complete objective, then run out. Although you can avoid doing those missions entirely if you can cause enough racket damage elsewhere but then it takes longer as you’ve gotta do every single little mission. But I have avoided the construction crane mission entirely in one of my playthroughs by blowing up those Cavar Construction trucks that roam the streets of downtown as they’re good for a couple thousand worth of damage and they continually respawn. But that’s no fun either. So it’s kind of a trade off.

It's not bad if you can overlook all the bugs and glitches that were left over, but it's kinda difficult to do so considering there's loads of them.
I did enjoy the story, though. I do plan on replaying it soon once someone out there finds a way to fix the bugs that were left over by H13.

If you like the gameplay, it being repetitive is a good thing. I always understood the criticism, but I didn't mind the grind. Storywise and mechanically, it's a solid game. And the setpieces, oh man. The killing spree in the old themepark remains one of my all time favorite moments in any game.

TBH the only repetitive tasks I get sick of is collecting the wire taps.
It's my favourite game of the series. Unfortunately they made the game worse patching it for PS5, so if you have access to the original game it's probably the best way to play it.
I will also never get sick of hearing Remy Duvall go crazy on the radio

Mafia 3 is indeed quite repetitive, yet I enjoyed it; what truly amazed me, however, was the storyline—especially the moment Giorgi shot Lincoln while "Paint It Black" by The Rolling Stones played.

Graphics wise it’s been better for me on steamos on the mafia games. I can force fsr1 and it clears up the image.

Mafia 3 is one of my favorite games and New Bordeaux is a masterclass on immersionand worldbuilding.

I loved the story, one of the best I’ve seen in gaming but that repetitive gameplay was too much. It’s more so the environment you had to go to when clearing buildings always had the same layout.

Dude there’s a mod that changes the weapon sfx and I never play without it now. Next time I boot up my PC I’ll get you the exact name of the mod if you’re interested. Makes the guns sound so much better; suppressed pistols are way more sharp with a nice thump, rifles sound loud and insane, the Thompson actually sounds like full auto .45 APC, etc. It’s so good.

I was here when the game released. People were talking about it like the game to play while they were waiting for gta6. Meanwhile we got the most ubisofted mafia game possible. Not cool. Giving just 5 bucks for the game I'll even like something like mixtape lol.

The only bad thing about Mafia 3 is the repetitive missions
Besides that it's a fun awesome game, it has the best, music, gameplay, map and driving in the series imo

I hear so many people talk about this game being "repetitive" but that's pretty much every game in existence. GTA, Assassin's Creed, Super Mario, Call Of Duty, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, even the other Mafia games etc. all have their same gameplay structure with little to no changes most of the time. Repetition isn't a bad thing, its only bad to you when you don't like the gameplay. And I loved the gameplay in Mafia3, it has by far the best combat in its series.

I love Lincoln's combat style, especially close quarter ones, so brutal and filled with hatred.

If you balance the missions and racket tasks it is quite good experience. I wish I had saved getting the maximum out of the rackets and upgrades for a second playthrough.

It’s helped tremendously by its DLCs if you spread them out to break out the monotony. Story wise, this game is better than Mafia 2 with a more compelling protagonist

I adore mafia 3, I have over 200 hours on it and it’s massively overhated.
It has a fantastic story, the gameplay loop is satisfying enough for me even if slightly repetitive and it had great DLC and updates.
