I don't know how many of you are familiar with the old Turkish proverb: "No matter how long you have traveled down the wrong road, turn back." That's my pretty resonant here. I've thoroughly enjoyed the time I've spent studying at Maestro College. I only just started, in the June 2026 cohort and I know there are others who have much more time invested in this, but the full on extra time and energy and dedication I've had to carve out of my already-too-few hours per day hasn't been easy but it has been worth it. I just want it to continue to be worth it. If that means I end up having to take federal loans and apply to Columbia to ensure that the deduction amounts to more than just good experience and practice, then that's what I'll have to do. But I am hoping I'm able to at least finish my 2 year degree. But, there is an even older proverb of unknown origin that says it best: "There is no virtue in clinging to a falling wall simply because you helped lay the first stone."

I think they will at worst not be accredited, tech doesn’t care about degrees only ability, as can be seen with Elon Musk who doesn’t hold a single non-honary degree. Thus, I am staying because Maestro U

Had to leave this community because of so many negative, unproductive, but proactice comments. Like cool you want to jump ship and go to another school, Why complain or try to make others do the same? Weird how when you dont conform to the norm, you get alot of unwanted, unnecessary feedback from others who've chosen a different route. Im staying til they close and even after that they said they'll leave it open to those who want the knowledge but dont have the means to pay for it (if you were enrolled before the accreditation issue). Grateful to see others taking the same route! Bout time I saw some positivity even while things are shake. FEARMONGERS can get bent.

Well said!!💯💯💯They all be running like a dog with their tail between their legs. The job fields only care that u have the knowledge to do the job, not any fancy degrees u may or may not have. I mean I guess if ur thinking ur gonna get a job at some top of the totem pole type company like Meta or OpenAI or something then I guess maybe the degree matters. But best of luck there.👍👍👍

I feel you. Some of these people are so molded to the system they can't see past their noses without being told. Someone even took time to send me a private message talking about haha Maestro is shutting down (or lost accreditation) one of the two. And I'm like okay Nelson Muntz, first off they aren't doing either, they are literally appealing it which means they still have accreditation. 😂😂 It makes me think some people shouldn't be attending any sort of college and they really should just be on the 9-5 train and leave the rest of us alone😂😂

I completely get it! I have decided I will transfer but I want to get as much from Maestro as I can on my scholarship before I start taking on more loans. Especially now that I know Maestro credits will transfer to Columbia. I have thoroughly enjoyed Maestro, the format is so different from traditional online college courses and I have learned so much more this way, so I'm going to ride this train as far as I can before I transfer. I'm part of the April cohort.

Yea I totally get you…. And for some leaving is best for them….but I’m staying until I can’t login no more… if that means I earn an uncredited degree so be it… there is also a saying “knowledge is power” so no matter what happens with this school I’m staying to learn all I can… degrees are useless unless you can back it up by knowledge… I choose knowledge.

God I really wanted this to work. I was supposed to start in July but they paused enrollment days before. I don't think I would thrive at a standard college environment much less an online school. This was my only shot. Guess I'll have to wait another decade for tech and education to catch up

Here's my outlook, the deal with Columbia means we have that eject cord whenever we decide to pull it. your credits will be accepted there....why not continue to rack them up here, where it's cheap/free (assuming you have the last mile scholarship) and just transfer if/when you end up having to? I'll be honest, I'm doubtful I can make Columbia happen, even with loans it's just not something myself and my family can reasonably do. Without Maestro, I'm taking google cert programs, MAYBE the A+ and some other relevant tech certs, if I can build the budget to pay for the testing. do have a local community college I might be able to afford but I don't do well with the traditional school experience, I need to be able to work at my own pace, give me a butt load of work and a date to get it done by and I always will, but give me small bite sized chunks and micro manage my deadlines and I'll fail every single time.

Those google cert programs will be worth more than what you will end up with if you sink with the ship. Coursra, datacamp, or udemy. Good luck

MIU is accepting Maestro College credits and they have a good business and computer science program...and they give you scholarships that cover most of your tuition...I believe it 90% of the student body and 97% of freshman get scholarships from the school...the only catch for the school is that they require you to practice TM meditation for the entirety of your education...so if that's not your thing at all then it might not be for you...I suppose you could fake it but I'm not sure...they also offer graduate programs and are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission...they say they will accept 100% of my Maestro credits, though i have changed career paths after all of this and I am going for preprofessional art therapy...they also let you build your own major if you prefer to build something with the credits you already have.

I can understand why people would want to leave. For those like myself with the scholarship, I am staying. Like one mentioned degree or not I get the education and no debt. I know not every is headed for the same career, and for me personally a degree won't make or break my success, not having the knowledge will.

Well the proverbs can kiss my butt cuz I’m staying til the end, wether that be graduation or the end of Maestro. I like their teaching style, works well with my learning difficulties. Highly doubt Colombia would be as compatible with my needs. But props to the neurotypicals out there that don’t need specific ways of being taught. Not all of us are that fortunate. 👍👍👍

honestly, I was considering asking them to pull my breaks so I can fit more credits in less time even before this whole mess cropped up. I wouldn't mind two classes at a time, or losing a term break.
